Christmas Vacation Ideas For Families

This blog post is in collaboration with Sandals and Beaches Resorts.

The Christmas holiday is quickly approaching! What are your plans this holiday season? I hope you have plans to travel whether to visit family or escape the stresses of every day life!

Traveling during the holidays is a favorite of mine. The chance to spend uninterrupted time with my family in a relaxing atmosphere is vitally important. We all get a chance to unwind, have fun and most importantly reconnect with one another.

So if you are traveling, where will you go? First you must choose a location. Are you searching for warm or cold weather or are you planning a sight seeing vacation at a well known place?

A warm destination offers you the opportunity to soak in the sun, play in the water and hopefully sink your toes in some sand. Every warm destination vacation finds us searching for treasured seashells, enjoying ice cream cones and ice cold beverages and of course eating outside as much as possible! Trips to local attractions such as zoos, amusement parks or water parks always make it on our list.

Colder destinations offer the sparkling snow- great for tubing, skiing or sledding. Hot chocolate and apple cider are such great ways to end the day with your family discussing all the great adventures you had in the snow. We love to play board games around a roaring fire and often end the nights wrapped up in cozy blankets watching family movies.

Traveling for a sight-seeing experience? The holidays are such a magical time to visit famous landmarks. Giving your children the opportunity to experience different customs and traditions during the holidays is something you all will never forget.

Christmas Vacation Ideas For Families

You’ve decided on a location, now how do you get there? I love how many options are available for transportation. Want to sit back and relax and not worry about the travel details? A cruise might be just the option for you- giving you more time to enjoy your family and letting others handle the destination logistics.

If traveling by water is not desirable, there are so many great locations to travel to by plane or train. You also can travel by car which allows you the freedom to stop and explore along the way. Once you have decided on the mode of transportation don’t forget about the option of an all-inclusive resort. It’s a fantastic way to allow for ultimate relaxation for everyone in your family.

Whatever destination you end up choosing, remember to search for a keepsake that will help you remember your holiday family vacation. Whether it is an ornament you can hang on your Christmas tree or a magnet for your fridge, it is sure to bring back all the great memories your family has made!
