Woodloch Resort is an amazing four-season resort found in the Poconos mountains. This mountain lake resort has been called one of America’s “Best Inclusive Family Resorts”. My family and I had the chance to check it out for ourselves a few weeks ago.
We live in Northern Virginia and love being able to get away from the busy city to relax and enjoy family time. When offered the chance to experience the all-inclusive resort in Pennsylvania’s Poconos mountains I was so excited to experience it.
When we arrived at Woodloch on the weekend before Halloween we were checked in and the daily activity sheet was explained to us. This has everything that is going on in Woodloch listed. I loved that certain activities were labeled as appropriate for younger age groups so I didn’t have to worry about my kids (age 6, 3, and 1) struggling to keep up or losing interest. Since it was close to Halloween they had many activities planned for kids and adults of all ages.
Our room was extremely spacious and had an amazing view of the lake. The room offered 2 queen sized beds, living room, dining room, full kitchen, bath, and laundry area.
Woodloch offers inclusive meal plans so you don’t have to worry about where your next meal is coming from. Each meal offers multiple choices so no one is left out. I especially enjoyed the fact that they have a ‘kid friendly’ menu (hot dogs, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, etc) so parents are (mostly) free to enjoy a meal without the fight of kids trying new foods.
Delicious prime rib with broccoli and roasted potatoes we had our first night staying at Woodloch
Amazing view from our balcony.
Our first full day we enjoyed a nature walk where we saw a bear (from a safe distance) and a few deer running by, my kids are still talking about the bear. My husband and I took turns taking the older two on the go-carts. Bumper boats were next and the older two girls sat with me as we soaked everyone around us. A petting zoo was set up along with pony rides so the kids were thoroughly exhausted before we went to lunch.
the 6 year old was squealing the whole time
bumper boats
petting zoo, such a friendly donkey
My 3-year-old getting to ride a horse, she was excited it was the same kind of horse as the one in the movie Frozen
While I went to the room with the baby so she could have a quick nap, my husband took the older two out on the lake in the paddle boats. I was able to wave to them from the balcony (they had so much fun).

Later that afternoon the girls got dressed up in their Halloween costumes and went trick or treating around the property. There was a little party and costume contest after that. The kid’s favorite part was the costume parade and cupcakes
In the evening my husband and I used Woodloch’s babysitting service so we could get out and have a much-needed date night without the kids for a very reasonable price (check with front desk for prices). The babysitter took my 3 kids to dinner (she was able to sit at our table and eat a meal also on our plan. The kids were fast asleep when we got back. In the morning they told us all about the babysitter and how much fun they had with her. I would highly recommend using this service if you have little ones. We were able to get out, have an adult beverage, talk without being interrupted, and we won $10 at bingo!
I would recommend this resort to anyone with or without kids to spend a relaxing vacation at. The attentiveness to details and how welcomed we felt has us wanting to come back again next year.
