Vegan Dinner Rolls

I was making some homemade mashed potatoes & a roast for my hubby (yea yea not vegan) when I figured I needed to make a pan of biscuits or rolls. I’ve made bread but rolls are my worst enemy.

I needed a recipe that had the least amount of ingredients and did not require me to bend, roll, rise, or knead. Only because for some unknown reason, my DNA refuses to do any of those properly.

I found a super easy 30 minute dinner roll recipe and made it my own by editing out some things to make it vegan.

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg alternative (I use neat egg)
  • 3.5 cups of flour (I use Bob’s Red Mill)

Here is my make it or break it part…

In a mixing bowl combine your sugar & water. Once mixed, put your yeast over the top and let it set for 5 mins.

Prepare your egg alternative, then add the oil, salt, and 1 cup flour. Mix.

Mix everything together, including the remaining flour. Then knead for 1 minute.

Let your mix sit for 10 more minutes, in a greased round pie pan (or in a cookie sheet, whatever you prefer). Preheat your oven to 400 degrees in the meantime.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Brush the tops with vegan butter when they are done.

You should have beautiful golden restaurant style rolls for your meal. Very hearty I will add. These are thick and so yummy.
