The Sea & Sunrise at DoubleTree by Hilton (Myrtle Beach)

When DoubleTree by Hilton reached out about their Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort, I almost declined. Not because I wouldn’t love to sit by the water and relax, but because my husband is currently across the world. But it just so happened that they had an opening during the time he would be visiting us. My fingers could not respond fast enough!

We excitedly arrived to 27 acres on the south end of Ocean Boulevard and ventured up to an open lounge with a reception desk, that overlooked a beautiful private beach. At check-in, you can kick off your vacation with a warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie, but we opted for a view and cocktail. (I ended up ordering this drink later at dinner again because it was so good!)

Delicious Cocktail

We knew our one ‘to-do’ was to walk the beach. Hand in hand, mentally check out of the world and focus on each other and the waves. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up at the Myrtle Beach State Park & Fishing Pier. Of course, the downside was realizing how far we had to walk back, ha! But while there, we watched sharks and jellyfish swim under the blue-green waters, plus yoga, and a small wedding on shore.

As it got later, we sat on the balcony at the DoubleTree, swam in one of the outdoor pools, the indoor heated pool and one of the lazy rivers. The lazy river was our favorite! Then we decided to visit the resort’s free miniature golf, located directly across the street. If we had not walked a few beach miles, we probably would have also used the free bikes they provide as well. (Kids and adult sizes.)

Drone Photo- Sunrise

Overall, we had an amazing, romantic, exciting, “alone” time. It was just what we both needed to feel like we had been secluded from the world of bills, work and life.

A few tips for those visiting:

  • Pack a hat, chapstick, and sunblock
  • Wear a fanny pack, waist belt or sling bag
  • Look for fun photo ops like the giant chairs around the city
  • The hotel restaurant, Ocean Blue, offers huge portions. Just share!
  • Get the breakfast buffet, it’s ughhhhmazing
  • If you are looking for Drone coverage, know the area regulations!

Thank you to DoubleTree by Hilton for allowing us a media review along with meals. All videos and photos are my own, including drone footage.
