Today I get to bring you another great personalized book from a company called StoryTots.  First a little about StoryTots from its founder Jessica:

StoryTots is proud to be a Mom-preneur company!

My little guy’s endless enthusiasm for books and stories sparked the initial idea for StoryTots. My husband is great at making up stories on the fly. He started to tell bedtime stories that featured our son, Holden, as the hero, off on an adventure or rescuing one of his favorite stuffed animals. Our son loved those stories! He would become giddy as the story progressed, and start giggling and jumping around unable to wait to hear what “he” would do next. The idea to go beyond having his name in a book as the character came from a desire to take the personalization further, and bring my skills as an illustrator into the project. The idea for StoryTots was born!

As I started mulling over different story ideas, I’d ask for my then-3-year-old’s opinion. Often he had terrific input and sometimes sparked entirely new stories. Each story is thoroughly market tested by my son and many of his friends, my size-4T editorial staff! Luckily for me, they are happy to work for fruit snacks, goldfish crackers and the occasional trip to the park.

I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I have enjoyed creating them and sharing them with friends and family.

So what exactly is StoryTots?

Our personalized children’s books feature colorful illustrations based on your child! Your favorite little one gets to be the hero in his or her very own story. These adorably illustrated books make a perfect keepsake, birthday gift or holiday gift for the young children on your list.

Each story features a personalized, illustrated “hero” – your child!

YOU get to select the:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Hairstyle
  • Hair color
  • Skin tone
  • Even add freckles and/or glasses!
  • Also – add your own personal dedication, printed right in the book!

In just a few minutes you can select your specific criteria, review your child’s “look” and your book is on its way to becoming a very special gift for your little one!

My take:  I really liked the unique twist that you can select what the character looks so as to closely resemble your child.  There are 12 options for hair styles, 9 hair colors, and 6 different skin tones.  My niece is a HUGE lover of monkeys so as soon as I saw the Catch Those Monkeys Book , I knew it was for her.  She is not the pale white that my boys are and I loved that I was able to choose a slightly darker skin color for her.  The story is cute, the illustrations are great, and I got to put a personalized dedication on the first page…I am going to rate high on the aunt list with this book!  You are able to preview what the character will look like, can read the entire book online to make sure it is the book for you, and create and order the book online.

Each StoryTots book retails for $25.95 and there is also a new option of personalizing 2 custom characters!!
