The majority of us would love to lose up to 12 pounds in 2 weeks wouldn’t we? If anyone can lead us there it’s Denise Austin – long time fitness and nutrition guru! I’ve been exercising “along side her” on and off for the past 20 years, so when I found out about her new book Denise’s Daily Dozen and blog tour, I definitely wanted to participate!
We all want to be in shape, but I know from comments and emails that I received during the 90 Day Fitness Challenge that time is an ever present struggle in our quest to lose that weight!

From Denise Austin comes the perfect health book for anyone who wants to live better but just can’t seem to find the time. Much more than just another exercise book, Denise’s Daily Dozen covers a whole range of health and diet related concepts yet manages it all in a no-stress, time-conscious program of 12′s. At it’s core, this book contains the minimum daily requirements to keep the reader flexible, strong and trim. Organized simply into seven chapters, which equal the seven days of the week, it covers a full week in daily allotments. Each day will have it’s own focus from Monday being “fat burning day” to Sunday’s “recharge and rejuvenate.”
Denise has created a total body program, including a 7-day balanced meal plan that includes healthy recipes, and a workout that encompasses 12 exercises done in 12 minutes each day. Everyone can take just 12 minutes, at whatever time of the day works for them, and turn it over to these simple and fun exercises. Cardio, toning, yoga and breathing exercises…they’re all here but in a way the maximizes effect while minimizing time.
Beyond a dozen exercises for each day of the week this book will include many other of Denise’s dozens for each day.
The concept is simple; Twelve Easy Exercises in Twelve Minutes a Day using a program that encompasses cardiovascular work, toning, flexibility and a healthy eating plan.
What I was most interested in is Denise’s eating plan. There is no denying that at 52 Denise looks AMAZING! It can’t be done with just exercise, it has to be a healthy lifestyle all around that includes being active every day, eating right and getting plenty of rest! Her book is full of great tips on things like pre-planning meals, eating on the go, organic foods, menus and even gives us 12 meals you can make in 12 minutes! She even has the shopping lists all made out by week (three weeks are included) along with recipes for each meal.
Each day is laid out in an easy to follow format with multiple pictures of each exercise along with detailed written directions. In the usual Denise Austin style this book is packed full of enthusiasm and encouragement and may be just the thing you need to jump start your healthy 2010!

I exercise and TRY to eat right and healthy, thanks for the chance!
I’ve been walking everyday!!
I try to eat heathier and walk for exercise.
i ride the bike first thing every morning
i keep strong by walking
I walk the dog and do mini workouts: treadmill, the firm dvd, weights, the stepper.
I make most of my meals homemade and I run after kids all day.. I’m always lifting and carrying 50lbs of twins so I know that makes me strong LOL
