Viking Toys: Review & Giveaway

viking2-vert

My 20 month old tries so hard to keep up with his brother when playing.  Whether  it is playing with cars, trains, balls or anything else he just has a harder time secondary to those chubby little fingers.  I recently contacted a great company called Viking Toys for some assistance.  First a little about Viking Toys:

Our products are made to be played with and should work in the sandpit and on the lawn as well as in the living room or on the kitchen table.

Our Toys must last for many hours of play and in order to allow this, the choice material has been vital. The material must be able to endure years of rough play and many different weather conditions. The soft material we have chosen neither breaks nor looses its colour when exposed to sun, cold or rainy weather. The axles are produced from strong rustproof steel so they can endure the humid conditions and also the rough play they are exposed to. The soft-rubber wheels allow our toys to keep on rolling silently for many years to come.

Viking Toysconsistent design and distinct identity is a result from the long collaboration with the designer Björn Alskog. The soft shapes and vivid colors can be recognized allthroughout our line of products. Our new designer Henrik Johansson is continuing in Bjorns footsteps and has already contributed to several new, interesting products.

I was fortunate enough to be able to review 3 products from Viking ToysSuper Chubbies Helicopter, Mom and Babies Assortment and Super Chubbies 10″ tractor:

Super Chubbies Helipcopter:

Includes three removable figures: 2 rescue pilots and patient. Includes a stretcher and the propellers spin. For ages 12 months and older.  Retails for $19.99.

Mom and Baby Assortment:

Mom and baby packaged in an attractive see through box. Choose from 4 assorted styles: frog, pig, cat and bear!  For ages 12 months and up.  Retails for $12.99.

Super Chubbies 10″ Tractor:

10″ tractor includes one figure. Front loader is great for scooping sand! For 12 months and up.  Retails for $17.99.

My take:  First off I have to tell you I love Viking’s Toys philosophy:  “Soft, Simple, Safe, Silent, & Strong”.  It truly fits this company perfectly.  I love how there are no sharp edges to be found on any toy, how simple each toy is which encourages childrens’ imaginations and how safe they are.  By far my 2 most favorite aspects:  silent and strong.  I have never found a toy that is so silent (and with 2 spoiled boys that is quite a statement).  Whether the toys are on the floors, the walls or outside they are so quiet and I adore that!!!  Viking Toys are also very durable.

Both of my boys have played with these toys for quite some time.  Their favorite (and mine too) is the Helicopter.  We love the propellers, the stretcher and of course the removable people.  I also love the Mom and Baby Assortment because there are 2 cars so each boy can play with one.  Of course the 20 month old just learned what a pig says so “oink, oink” is becoming quite the mantra at our house.  The tractor is great for outdoors- we have loaded stones and dirt with no problem.
