Let’s Dish Review & Giveaway

dish1-vert

A week ago, my sister and I had the pleasure of trying out one of the nearby Let’s Dish stores for the first time.

Lets Dish

Let’s Dish is a company that provides you with all the food – you just go into the store, prepare your food, store it in freezable containers and take it home to freeze then cook when it’s convenient for you. You can prepare 4, 8, or 12 dishes per session, with each dish serving 6 people. Let’s Dish is perfect for filling up your freezer with homemade meals, sides, and desserts for on-the-go families.

Lets Dish 1

We started the Let’s Dish process by choosing our dishes and paying for them online. That way, when we got to the store, we dished and left without worrying about whipping out the checkbook. We attended a Friday evening session and to my surprise, there were a few others groups there with us – I thought it’d be slow since it was a Friday evening. We were immediately greeted with smiles and an explanation of how the process works. I would like to greatly commend Let’s Dish on the extreme cleanliness of their store. There were plenty of areas to wash your hands, lots of sanitation wipes to clean each station and an overall feeling of clean which is super important when I’m dealing with my food!

My sister and I don’t typically share the same tastes so we weren’t able to split each of the meals. Instead we both tried out two dishes. My sister dished up some black bean and spinach enchiladas as well as a shrimp and orzo dish. She cooked up her enchiladas at home first and had rave reviews saying how tasty there were, especially since they were a vegetarian dish (she’s a big meat lover). Next came the shrimp and orzo dish. I thought she was going to go back to Let’s Dish immediately and order just 4 dishes of the shrimp and orzo! She had nothing but tasty “yums” and good things to say about this dish.

Lets Dish 3

I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Sweet Potato Fries which I cooked up at home first. Oh…my…gosh! The flavor and juiciness of the chicken was beyond words. I still have half of the dish frozen in my freezer but I’m waiting for someone special to visit me so I can cook it up and wow them with my fabulous culinary skills!  Next I cooked up the Mahi Tacos – ooh la la I love these tacos! I was truly surprised at the huge chunks of Mahi they provided for each taco. Both of my dishes are highly recommended and I’d definitely order these again!

If I had one con about the Let’s Dish experience, it was that I’m trying to be a more eco-friendly member of the world. Since Let’s Dish provides you the opportunity to prepare meals and take them home immediately, there are lots of plastic bags involved. Short of bringing my own containers to store the food in, the plastic bags were necessary to store, transport, and freeze my meals easily. I still felt a little guilty every time I tossed a plastic bag in the trash though. But other than this one thing, I loved dishing and I’m already making plans to go back with my sister! (Let’s Dish addressed this concern in their blog: here)

Here are some other Let’s Dish perks that I haven’t yet taken advantage of:
-         DishDelivery: If you don’t have time to make up your meals for yourself, you can have them made and delivered to you. This is perfect for people who don’t live near a Let’s Dish store, or perfect if you want to ship food as a gift to someone else’s house! DishDelivery is FREE to moms who gave birth within the last 90 days because we know new moms are super busy and need the convenience of homemade meals ready in a short amount of time!
-         Dish-and-Dash: Again, if you don’t have time to stop by and make all your meals yourself, you can run into a Let’s Dish store and find a large freezer full of pre-made options, including full meals, side dishes, desserts, and scones!
-         Hosting Parties: Have a group of 5 people sign up for the same session and each of the participants will receive a FREE dessert!
-         Hosting Private Parties: Host a group of 12 people and the store is yours! Plus each participant receives an extra dish for FREE! If you host a baby shower with 12 people, the mom-to-be gets a free 4 dish session!
-         Discounts for referring friends! You get $10 off for letting Let’s Dish know who referred you and that person gets the credit! (Hint hint…if you want to use me as a referral to get $10 off your first order, contact me and I’ll let you know my referral information!)
