While we were late jumping on the iPod train, we are finally catching up to current technology. In fact this latest review kind of has me regretting going with the Thunderbolt instead of the newest iPhone with my Mother’s Day upgrade. In any case, I think you are going to love the new iP39 for both it’s convenience and functionality for use in your kitchen! I may not have the iPhone, but this works wonderfully with my classic iPod and my kids iPod Touch and it looks fantastic too!
About the iP39: The iP39 is the perfect kitchen companion for iPhone and iPod users, combining sleek kitchen aesthetics and easy-to-clean surfaces with two independent timers and great iHome sound. It’s perfect for listening to cooking show podcasts and following recipe apps.
The iP39 is packed with extras, including a retractable universal dock, time sync feature to instantly set the clock to your iPhone time, a magnetic remote control and USB port to charge devices such as cell phones, PDAs, etc.

My Thoughts: I absolutely love this addition to my kitchen! I have been able to easily have my iPod playing my favorite tunes while working in the kitchen and it is charging at the same time! The timers have come in super handy for homework (and cooking of course) and I have been able to put the stop watch away and solely use the iP39 for reading and timed homework. It fits in perfectly with my stainless steel appliances and looks like it belongs in the room without standing out or taking up too much counter space.
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I am kind of regretting that I did not go with the iPhone when I upgraded a couple of weeks ago. There are so many cool (and award winning) items available from iHome, but for now I will have to settle with using them with the iPods. However, one feature that I do find very useful with my cell phone is that there is a USB charging port that I can use to charge my phone or my extra phone charge pack and I can utilize this while still having my iPod docked.
The sound quality has been great and the radio comes in nice and clear. You can also hook up your portable CD player if you want to listen to something you don’t have on your iPod playlist. We have been using the iP39 daily since it arrived and absolutely love it for it’s sleek style, great sound and easy convenience!
