Disclosure: I tested out Walmart’s Online Grocery service mentioned in this post, and received grocery shopping funds from Walmart in order to do so.
It’s the dreaded day of grocery shopping and you have a toddler. Of all the days for the stars to align, you hope and pray you can get through all 30 aisles as fast as you can.
It’s the story of a lot of parents these days. Even not having toddlers, infants, a broken leg, etc, I still found the need to utilize Wal-Mart’s grocery pick up service. I find that I get distracted and can go into a social panic attack when confronted with large crowds and an indecisive mind. I like to read labels, google things, look up random recipes or just people watch. Seriously, my brain goes from 0-1000 in those isles.
Walmart Grocery is our new pickup and delivery service. Take advantage of Walmart’s Everyday Low Prices on a huge assortment of groceries and more and save time by shopping online. Simply place an order online at walmart.com/grocery, choose a timeslot, and your order will be loaded directly into your car at your local Walmart, or in some markets, you can have your order delivered right to your doorstep!
So, of course, when Wal-Mart came up with the brilliant idea to allow you to order your all your food (frozen and deli included) online, I was 400% sold. Like, throw my money at you sold. I hopped on that train so quick. The Wal-Mart I normally shop at was not available for pick up but another, smaller, Neighborhood Wal-Mart was. Actually, I had no idea this location even existed anyways. I ordered $50 worth, used a $10 coupon and paid (they don’t charge your card till pick up). I had scheduled for my pick up the next day and left early to find the location and pick up section.
I will admit the 1st order did not go as smooth as I had hoped, but it in no way deterred me from utilizing that service. Finding the pickup lane was difficult since the email notice had it on the opposite side of the building near the loading docks when they were actually near the pharmacy. The system alerted my handler that I was someone else, so the poor kid lugged out the wrong order. He had to come from clear across the store too, and by the time he came back out, 3 more vans pulled up. And, I was missing several items they just did not have in stock.
Overall, the lack of items is to be expected, especially with such a small store, and with it being a new service at this location, hiccups can occur. I totally have seen how this service helps those with a disability, an elder, 14 kids, a sick pet, or a single sleeping baby. Or you could be like me and you are just too darn busy. Did I also mention, the Pickup service is FREE!
And to make matters even better, I just seen that Wal-Mart is now DELIVERING in certain areas. Holy cow! You don’t even have to change your clothes! #SweatPants4Life !
