Okay, the challenge is over and I am ready to post my results. Before I do I want to remind you all of where I started from. At 43 years old, I was not feeling good. I had gained weight steadily since having Hanna almost 10 years ago. I had tried so many diets and exercise plans and some would work for a bit, but overall I always gained the weight right back, plus some. I was not athletic, energetic or healthy when I started following the P90X program 13 weeks ago. Every night my ankles were swollen and I suffered from multiple aches and pains throughout my body. I was not headed in a good direction!
Enter P90X: I was scared to take on this program, because it looked so hard. I was honestly intimidated! BUT I wanted to make a change and I knew that if it was going to work, it would not be easy. It wasn’t easy – it was really hard, but it feels so good to push your body and see what it can really do. I feel so much stronger and healthier now! I have energy, I am stronger than I ever remember being, my ankles never swell anymore, my body does not hurt (except for the occasional soreness from the workouts) anymore and I feel so much younger!
Okay, I know you want to see the numbers so here is my chart:
In three months I lost 17.5 inches! I have never been able to do that before and did it in a way that has made me healthier! So here is my beginning shot and my final picture:
When I look at the final picture I still see all the things that are wrong 🙂 I was going to take the month of January off and do another workout that I will be reviewing in January, but I am already feeling like I am missing my P90X workouts. The plan is to do the cardio workout in January and then the first of February start round 2 with P90X. I am excited to try the classic version because I am totally loving the weight training part of the P90X program and the classic version has more than the lean program. So everyone that wants to join me in February – let me know! I am hoping for another 20 lbs with the second go around!
So here are my final thoughts: Does it work? Absolutely! I works far better than any program I have ever tried! BUT it doesn’t do it for you – you are the one that has to make the decision. As Beachbody says: Decide, Commit, Succeed! If you make the decision, commit to the workouts and follow through, adjust your diet to eat healthy whole foods, you will succeed!
