Flying is the fastest way of travel there is no question, but it’s also one of the most expensive. Why not earn free seats with all the money your spending.

There are at least 2 handfuls of airlines out there who offer reward credit cards. Fly Southwest mostly? Their miles never expire and you can use it on AirTran now (one of my favorite airlines for Military!). Delta? They let you check your first bag FREE - for up to 9 people on your reservation, and is one of the most popular cards. Can you imagine paying $25+ for each of those bags? That is already a savings of $225! British Airways could be #1 for overseas travel beings it offers NO Foreign Transaction fees.

Some of RewardsCards.com top cards are selected because they offer travel rewards without having to be restricted to a certain airline. They generated a list of top travel cards looking at the annual fees, foreign transaction fees, free bags checked fee-free, amount of bonus travel points or miles earned, blackout dates, and concierge services provided by the cardholders.

Go over and check out all that Rewards Cards has to offer on frequent flyer mile card information. I certainly learned a lot myself, and even though I don’t travel often, I almost want to apply for the Citi Platinum Select AAdvantage Visa Signature Card and use it when my family comes to visit me overseas! Imagine all the points and miles I could be sitting on for the next 4 years of travels!

Would you like to win miles? Vote for your favorite Frequent Flyer Mile Credit Card and tell RewardsCards.com why and you could win 20,000 American Airlines miles for the best article and runners up get 10,000 and 5,000 miles. You may also choose another airline if you do not fly American as long as it is possible for them to buy miles through that program. Your article may be featured in their new upgrade to RewardsCards.com v2.0 and their new travel APP coming in 2012. Go over to RewardsCards.com to see further details!

Carter’s is the most trusted brand in young children’s clothing, and is featured in the movie What to Expect When You’re Expecting, due in theaters May 18! You can get two free tickets to the movie when you spend $60 or more in a Carter’s retail location between May 3 – 6, 2012.

Side note- When I first read that book, I was happy that they tell it like it is. After my 1st baby, I hated that TLC “A Baby Story” for the lies it told. Baby’s don’t come out all easy and smooth and no one tells you that you will poop on the doctor, yourself and even have hemroids so large that a class of doctors come in to take photos. What To Expect When You’re Expecting does though. That is one book every single mother in america needs. Even though I am done, I can’t wait to see the movie!

What one piece of advice was the most meaningful to you as an expecting mom? What advice would you share with other expecting moms? Be rest assured that you will find plenty to relate to in this spring’s film What to Expect When You’re Expecting, due in theaters May 18! And keep an eye out for adorable baby clothing essentials from Carter’s, the premiere children’s clothing featured in the movie!

Hello to all my UK readers! I have a great contest just for you!
QuickQuid is currently having a Career Advancement Contest with 20 winners getting £300 gift voucher toward a vocational course of their choice. I actually went to vocational school myself! I wanted to take welding but it was booked, so I opted for Cosmetology. Crazy difference I know. But, I graduated after 1500 hours of training, and became a blogger. Who knew.
The rules are simple:

Choose a vocational course you would like to take from any institute. A list of suggested institutes can be viewed here.

In approximately 200 words, tell QuickQuid which course you have selected and why.

Promote your essay on Facebook.

The 20 winners will be chosen based on quality of their essays and the number of likes they receive!
A similar contest is run by QuickQuid’s sister company PoundsToPocket as well.
Please note some fine print: Open to residents of the UK residents aged 18 or over. Entries from 50 Finalists, chosen by a public vote open until 23.59 (GMT) 20.05.12, will be scored by judges based on the knowledge and skills to be gained from the course, and how the course will contribute to career advancement. The top 20 Finalist with the most points overall from the judges and public will win a £300 voucher for course fees. The decision of the judges is final. Competition Starts 0.01 (GMT) 25 April 2012. Closing Date for Entries: 23.59 (GMT) 25 May 2012.

Many families have talked about facilities that can help their loved ones with mental illness. It is such a hard decision to find the right facility but in the end, it can be beneficial not just to them, but the whole family. Hospitalization may be overwhelming or even traumatizing. Weekly psychotherapy may be insufficient.

There is a PCH Treatment center in California that offers advanced mental health treatment for depression, bipolar, anxiety, personality disorders, self injury and psychological trauma. Some of these things can effect anyone at anytime of their life. I know I have had runs of depression here and there, and have had anxiety for almost 9 years now. It’s never to late to get help and you should not be embarrassed from it. This clinic will help with an individualized treatment plan with up to five individual therapy sessions per week, group therapies, neurofeedback, DBT and holistic activities including yoga, mindfulness meditation and sleep therapy. PCH Treatment Center features the therapeutic milieu of the GrandView Residence House, as well as immersive Day and Evening Outpatient Treatment Programs.

Patients can range in age & backgrounds. These things can effect us from military to moms. What’s even better is that they can stay in the facility or be home with their family (should they be able to function in day to day activities.) PCH Treatment Center offers an option for their clients who wish to stay in a group setting for their intensive treatment. The residence house is located two blocks from their treatment center with a short walk through a residential neighborhood. The residence house follows a “sober-living” model, where they can live as a family, even sharing meals and time together in a healing milieu. There are frequent group outings, and meals are provided or they are free to eat out or cook for themselves. The open structure of the residence allows them to live in a real world setting. PCH believes this allows for a more effective transition to the world when they finish their treatment program and need to return to work, school or family.

Don’t hesitate to contact PCH if your family has someone that could use the help.

We love Kidorable items in our house. They are so cute and fun; and part of me secretly lives through my girls wearing their raincoats or boots.

Your child can be anything they want, even in the rain, snow, or cold. Fairy, Mermaid, Frog, Princess, Astronaut, Fireman. Kidorable has the whole outfit to go with each line. You can pick up hangers, coats, gloves, boots, backpacks, and scarves!

I have purchased Kidorable items before but when I seen the brand on sale at Totsy, I went on a little splurge. I grabbed up the Mermaid boots & umbrella, with 3 sets of hangers (all different designs). Because we needed more hangers. (No, really we needed MORE hangers..) You can even see my picture on Instagram (follow me!). The savings was incredible.

When I even thought about doing a post about cosmetic surgery, I could hear the chatter in my head of what would be said. I wanted to at least say my peace with it; since within the last week alone, I have seen more facebook updates on the question “to do or not to do”, than updates on social events themselves.

I suppose in this day and age, it seems normal to run in and get a snip and tuck, some botox, a little pinch here, add some volume there. Even on photos of celebs, they never show the real them, because for some reason society needs to showcase perfection. And perfection to Hollywood, is a size 2 with no flaws. Reality is a size 13 with love handles from having the most beautiful children, sagging from breast feeding, and second guessing exactly how many butt cheeks you really have back there. And where do ‘back boobs’ really come from?

I am the type that says If it will improve your life for the better, such as weight loss help or breast reduction go for it. But, I am not one that is opposed to some added implants either. I feel there is a fine line between wanting something for yourself and wanting it for society to accept you. I certainly don’t want my own daughters growing up thinking they have to change anything on their bodies to make it in any profession based on their size(s)/looks. I know myself, would love some help in the boob, tummy and butt locations, but no one has ever persuaded my mind on those, and I haven’t mentioned it in ear shot of my daughters. I have always been self conscience on those parts, more so after children (Spanx!). Being done with any further birthing of children, I have noticed myself thinking of it more now. It’s like wanting to put everything back where it was at one time. Wouldn’t that be cool if for every kid you have, you get 1 free service?! I don’t want to look like someone famous, I just want to be a better ME.

Lord knows, if I never have anything done, I would still be completely happy with my body. My favorite features will always be my smile, positive attitude and my green eyes (thank you mom!), but if money was no option (because we know the price of breast implants …) , my new favorite features would be shining in a 2 piece bikini!

In the end, none of your facebook friends can tell you what to improve on your own body. Your kids & spouse/partner all love you the way you are with your stretch marks, lopsided, voluptuousness parts you have. If you are to edit anything on your body, do it for yourself and not for the acceptance or love of others. Social Media should never come up in the decisions of your body image, or mommy makeovers.

Social media evolved because of the consumers’ voice wanting to be heard. The louder we got, the more companies listened. Thus, we now determine what the latest toys, stories, celebrities, clothing, etc are going to be a hit. One product where we haven’t seen too much social is our very own credit cards. It really can’t do much more than it has, though, right? It pays for things we need, and we have to simply go by its rules on paying it back. Rewards, miles, points; we get back what they decide.

Until now.

Meet the all new MasterCard that will be chock full of your ideas: Barclaycard Ring MasterCard

It features an 8% flat rate interest, no annual fees , simple easy-to-understand terms and no transfer fees. Qualification still stands on the standard criteria; good to great credit history and a responsibility for debt. With Barclaycard Ring, you will be able to give feedback straight to the people behind it, help determine the service options, and suggest ideas for improvement. You are essentially the voice of the product! With the Giveback program, community members have the opportunity to share the profit generated from their decisions.

Barclaycard wanted to change the way people think about credit cards and their credit card company by putting the power back in the hands of customers. Barclaycard Ring will give cardholders a voice to help decide how the card can best work for them — along with the unique opportunity to benefit from its collective performance. This is the first time, through a virtual card member community, cardholders will be able to see into the their card’s financial profit and loss statements.

The name “Ring” was chosen to help bring to life the fact that this is the first social credit card to be designed and built through community crowdsourcing. Just like real-life circles of friends and communities of like-minded people, they want to enable cardholders to gather information, share knowledge and have a role in the product’s future success. Essentially, cardholders have the ability to influence decisions that impact how the card evolves and is managed. The entire group will caucus about different decisions – and ultimately vote on changes. I firmly believe this is an extremely unique opportunity. This is the first credit card (or anything with MY money involved) that I have seen, put decision-making power directly in cardholders’ hands. Barclaycard will report program performance and profits within the community to all card members and will share those profits (above a disclosed threshold) .

Consumers are asking for providers to make products accessible and easy to understand. You shouldn’t need a lawyer to read your monthly statements to you. This MasterCard is designed for a person who doesn’t want to mess around with an introductory rate that expires at some point; but a good, fair rate that allows them to purchase with confidence. That introductory rate isn’t tattooed to your hand anyways, so why worry about the deadline every time you want to buy something within that rate period?

This new platform will offer fantastic opportunities to interact with each other and share personal finance advice. Think of this platform like a Pinterest (without pictures) for financial learning. You get to share stories and learning in the community, hopefully becoming and offering others a road to being better personal financial managers. The community will evolve on its own, based on what members want it to go. The Barclaycard Ring team has already started to ask members about how they should represent member ’status’ within the community. Feedback is showing that cardmembers who are engaged, helpful to others and provide guidance in personal finance, should be recognizedfor their contributions to the community. Ideally, over time, there will be several tiers of ‘status’ as the program grows that can be earned based on different types of participation. Don’t worry thought, Barclaycard Ring MasterCard won’t leave you hanging. The community is administered by their community manager (Jen H - a mom!) who is responsible for helping community members, providing great information and generally keeping the conversation going. She has a lot of experience as an online community manager and her sole responsibility at Barclaycard US is to be the link between Ring cardholders and the bank. She is actively administering polls, writing a blog, answering questions and keeping cardmembers informed about what is going on. (Mom’s can wrangle a rowdy crowd!)

Are you as excited as I am? Head over to Barclaycard now and see if you qualify for this revolutionary new card!
