Synopsis: A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and the affection of her human family.

My take: This is one of the sweetest movies I have seen in a long time. The kids learned a valuable lesson in taking care of the pets especially when a new family member comes along (like we will have in July) and the importance of friendship. Everyone had a different “favorite” scene. My youngest liked when Tramp defended Lady against the stay dogs who were chasing her, the 5 year old liked the “date night” Lady and Tramp had and I enjoyed Lady and Tramp’s puppies.

The kids also loved the never before seen deleted scenes while I found Diane Disney Miller’s Remembering Dad segment very informative.

Being a busy mom of 2 (and 1 on the way) I always find it hard to find shoes that are first and foremost comfortable and a close second stylish and professional. I was recently introduced to Roses and Rye.

Roses & Rye, the San Francisco-based luxury shoe company, is pleased to announce their premier collection of innovative designs featuring supple leather and patent pending technology, for the Mom on the go. The inaugural The Town collection will feature two styles, The Marina and The Laurel, both available for purchase at www.RosesandRye.com.

Founded by husband and wife team Patricia Calfee and Ian Picache, Roses & Rye was created in the fall of 2011 at their design studio in San Francisco. Awed by the experience of becoming a mother, Patricia realized that her much loved shoe collection would not take her comfortably – and beautifully – into her new busy life. Together, they worked with expert podiatrists and award winning cobblers to create a luxurious shoe that protected her feet. The Marina and The Laurel styles will retail for $235 and are available in camel, red, black and pewter with sizing from 5 ½ to 10 ½.

Roses & Rye’s patent pending technology boasts a combination of seven unique features designed specifically to protect women’s feet during the active years of raising young children. The collection features:

Angled Mid-Sole: The patent pending angled mid-sole is designed to alleviate stress on your arches and take the constant pressure of a busy day.

Arch Support: To protect against overpronation, fallen arches and plantar faciitis (ugly, painful conditions) they included additional arch support in the insole.

Slip Resistant Outsole: In key areas across the leather outsole, they’ve strategically injected traction control to prevent slipping, tripping or falling.

Spacious Toe Box: They walked a fine line here by keeping the toe box wide enough to comfortably house the front of the foot while maintaining the shoe’s elegant design.

Shock Absorbing Insole: While R&R’s insoles are soft enough to wear through a long day, they’re strong enough to cushion thousands of pavement-pounding strides.

Partial d’Orsay: The Marina style is a partial d’Orsay design, built to accommodate any foot swelling that may occur.

Supple Kid Leather: Made with the softest leather available, their shoes provide that luxurious feeling of a comfortable, favorite glove.

I chose to review the Laurel in Camel.

A wardrobe staple, The Laurel adds that quintessential Audrey Hepburn polish to straight leg pants and knee length skirts. Designed with our seven point patent pending technology, The Laurel is bench-made and framed with supple kid leather and subtle toe stitching. Whether running after kids or running your own business, this shoe does it all.

Retails for $235.00

You can find Roses & Rye on Facebook and Twitter: @Rosesandrye.

My take: Several words come to mind when describing this shoe: gorgeous, elegant, stylish, durable, professional and most importantly comfortable. From the minute that I slip these shoes on until I take them off late at night they are comfortable, which is saying quite a bit since I have 4 months pregnant and constantly on the run. As a physical therapist, I admire the arch support and the top-notch quality of these shoes. These shoes pair great with slacks, jeans and skirts.

************************************************************

Being a Guidecraft Educator means bringing quality learning toys into my home for the kids.

Toys can entertain and stimulate young minds and foster an interest in a particular area, such as music, photography, math, arts and crafts, or language. Playing helps to develop a child’s social, emotional, language, intellectual, and problem-solving skills. When choosing toys, consider safety and age-appropriateness.

Playing helps to develop a baby’s social, emotional, language, intellectual, and problem-solving skills. Batting at a mobile, giving a musical ball a shove, or transferring a rattle from one hand to another helps babies to learn about the world. Such play also helps them to connect sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell to objects, to recognize shapes, patterns, and colors, develop hand-eye coordination and memory, and to bond with you and others.

When you choose toys and activities that enhance your child’s development, you’re speaking your baby’s language and helping her to foster cognitive and social skills that she can build on. But don’t give toys all the credit. You’re a key player. The most important toy is the parent and other caregivers because babies crave one-on-one social interaction and need the security it provides. The right toy, though, can make key developmental stages more fun—for your child and for you.

This month we were able to review two great products:

Flower Match Garden Patch:

Kids will love playing in our garden as they match up flower petals and stems using the easy to follow laminated pattern guides! Self-propping board with pegs and Velcro elements hold their selections securely in place as they follow the patterns or crate their own flowers! Comes in attractive wood storage case that doubles as the game board/ play area. AGES 3+.

Retails for $40.00.

Animal Train Sort and Match:

An award-winning educational tool for teaching color-matching, shape-matching and pattern-recognition in a fun, game-like setting. Animal Train Sort and Match includes six double-sided pattern cards, 43 animal and train pieces, a wooden storage case, and a self-propping board with pegs and metal backing to help guide the parts into place. AGES 3+.

Retails for $45.00

My take: I LOVE these matching products simply because they are so easy to use. No assembly, everything is ready to go. Simply slide the wooden top off and you are set!

Initially you will have to remove the packaging that separates all of the pieces. Once everything is laid out there is a slot to place the main whiteboard so the children can start matching.

Each set comes with 6 two-sided guides for the children to match.

Then the real fun of matching begins:

Mom perspective: I am all about nice tidy organization (or try to be) and I love how everything is self-contained in each set. My 5 year old flies through the matches so fast if makes my head spin while my 3 year old easily gets stumped by different shapes and sizes which I love because he then learns to find the correct match. These are great sets to learn colors and shapes. My only complaint is that the stem of the flowers did not hold very easily onto the white board, the magnets kept slipping down to the very bottom.

Physical therapist: The fine motor coordination required to fit the pieces exactly so leads to increased finger dexterity, better hand-eye coordination and improved spatial awareness. I also like how the main whiteboard is tilted and elevated to allow for better body positioning.

Want to win both of these great matching activity sets? Head on over to Mommy Moment!

My 3 year old loves anything with action so I knew the new Timmy Time DVD: Go Kart Timmy would be a hit.

Hold on tight for more fast-action fun with your pal Timmy and his preschool classmates! Enjoy the ride as Timmy speeds off in a brand new go-kart and runs into a big smelly problem. Then it’s off to the races at the nursery’s Sports Day, helping Otus with football and learning that winning isn’t everything. Surprises and laughter shift into high gear in these five delightful adventures the whole family will love!

My take: Of course the boys are now begging for go-karts of their own since seeing all the fun Timmy had. It amazes me how each and every episode has a great meaning with no words being exchanged!

I will admit it….I LOVE shoes. I try to limit my fascination since I have an ever growing collection but I have a hard time refusing a shoe review especially from Aerosoles.

I was given the chance to review the Aerosoles Mystique:

Enjoy the easy style and comfort of an ankle cowboy bootie. Rustic tumbled leather and stacked 1¾” heel give a cool look and tabs at the top pull on with ease.
My take: As soon as I took these boots out of the box I knew they were keepers. They are stylish, easy to don/doff and most importantly super comfortable. They look great with dress pants and jeans and will become a permanent staple for my wardrobe. The price is amazing as well!

TruMoo Chocolate Milk: Good nutrition, great taste, no debate. It’s a nutritious snack that satisfies moms and kids alike. Because TruMoo is made with real, fresh white milk, it has essential nutrients your kids need: calcium, protein, potassium, phosphorus, riboflavin and vitamins A, D and B12. TruMoo is made with table sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. And our chocolate milk is produced with pure cocoa, so you know your kids will love the taste of this nutritious treat that you can feel good giving your kids every day. To find TruMoo at a retailer near you, visit www.TruMoo.com. Also find us on Facebook and Twitter as @TruMooMilk

Have you ever heard of TruMoo Milk? Chances are you haven’t, but you should get to know it. Imagine how many kids are going to love the name alone! It sounds fun! Even I giggled as I called my local Wendy’s to see if they had any “TruMoo” milk in stock for the kids meals. How often do you get to make that call.

The only difference in this milk from other dairy is that it has less sugar and made from pure coco. It tastes and looks creamier and thicker. My girls didn’t make any notion of not drinking it and believe me, as soy lovers, they are picky on milk. I have poured a few brands down my drain after trying everything to get them to drink it, so this wins with us.

TruMoo will run you a little higher (depending on areas), around $4, but they do have milk coupons on their site. They do have more flavors such as strawberry and coffee. See if they have TruMoo in your area, if not, they may actually have it at your local Wendy’s.

So what is my final verdict? I say, if you can get coupons for TruMoo, or if its around the same price, you might as well give your child a better alternative. Less sugar and better ingredients is always best. There has to be a reason it won the PTPA Award.

My 4yr old has this obsession with not wearing socks…ever. She insists that socks “hurt” her feet too much. I could buy her a brand...

My 4yr old has this obsession with not wearing socks…ever. She insists that socks “hurt” her feet too much. I could buy her a brand new pair straight out of the package and she would still say they are “bad” and “hurt”. Half the time, mom is bent over forcing on a pair of perfectly fit socks, fighting a toddler. Ugh. I gave up.

Then these super cool socks came called EZ Sox. They sent me enough sizes that I even gave my niece and nephew some. Ariel thought they were great. I felt like was finally stressfree on the whole idea of socks. She tried them on, and the look on her face was priceless. I really think the process of putting them on easy with handles herself is what she liked the most. But, she said these socks were “the no hurt kind”. Hey I will take that and run!

She wanted to wear the same frog design for days but I had to pry them off her and switch them out. I think I might have to ask EZ Sox to create sizes large enough to get her through high school. ;- )

Here is a great EZ Sox video:

Overall: This pair of Ez sox are $9.99 for a 2 pair pack (2 pairs of fun animal designs in each pack) and if you have new learners or just stubborn ones like mine, go for Ez Sox! Cute and easy, these are perfect for toddlers! My mother in law said my niece and nephew both enjoyed putting the socks on themselves too, and left them on throughout the day. And from what I know about them…. that’s a plus! lol

-They do carry sizes for older kids and I just seen they have adult sizes too! I am kinda excited about that in Ariels case haaa. But on a serious note, these are great for anyone with immobile needs or those who really want to have some sort of Independence. Its a positive product!

When I contacted this company I did not know that I was pregnant but boy was I happy when it came! Mumoocie Body Pillow

Our patented cozy curved body pillow, aka “The Mum Pillow” as seen on “The Doctors“, will have your toddler (and you) sleeping soundly through the night! Unlike most body pillows it is suited for every size, age, body type and sleeping style. Mumoocie retains body heat and scent to give you the most soothing and snuggly sleep you’ve ever experienced and is the perfect solution for breaking your child’s co-sleeping habit.

Parents – Men – Women – Girls – Boys
You haven’t experienced sleep as sound as you will with Mumoocie…

Place Mumoocie behind your neck, under your legs, or behind your back to relieve stress – or cuddle with it in front of you as a spooning body pillow and feel like your loved one is sleeping soundly right beside you! It’s perfect for easing the separation anxiety experienced by so many youngsters.

Mumoocie comes in two different styles; fiber filled and high quality memory foam. Both are designed for comfort and support with a slightly different feel. It also has a removable, washable cover for easy laundering. We also have an optional voice recorder in a hidden compartment so you can record a special message to keep your loved one comfortable while they rest. It’s also a perfect sleeping aid while you or a loved one is traveling.

My take: I chose to review the High Quality Memory Foam Pillow. As soon as it came I noticed that both of the boys tended to grab this pillow first when laying on the floor to watch a video. I quickly claimed it as my own once the morning sickness struck. This pillow allows me to lay elevated, be comfortable in the car during long trips and is a must have when sitting on the couch. We haven’t used the voice recorder but if I had a child suffering from separation anxiety this would be perfect.

As many of you know by now, I am 14 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately you won’t be able to read about my joy for a while because as with my other two pregnancies I am suffering from horrible persistent morning sickness (24/7). I have tried ginger root, Vitamin B6, lemon drops, Zofran and Phenegren to no avail. I was getting ready to just accept that I would have this for then next 6 months like the other pregnancies when a nurse practitioner mentioned a product called PrimaBella.

PrimaBella™, the only FDA cleared prescription non-invasive medical device intended for treatment of nausea and vomiting due to pregnancy (NVP). PrimaBella is an innovative prescription neuromodulation device worn on the underside of the wrist to reduce nausea and vomiting symptoms during pregnancy.

How Does PrimaBella Work?

Step 1: Nausea may be a result of an irregular output of the brain, resulting in an erratic stomach rhythm.

Step 2: When PrimaBella is activated, PrimaBella emits gentle pulses which are transmitted through the median nerve on the underside of the wrist and travel to the emetic center in the brain.

Step 3: These gentle pulses regulate the nausea signaling process between the brain and stomach restoring normal stomach rhythm and providing relief of nausea and vomiting.

PrimaBella is a drug–free treatment for nausea and vomiting in pregnancy that allows you to take control of your life and your pregnancy. PrimaBella can be activated when you feel the onset of nausea and vomiting and turned off when symptoms go away. For the first time, you have the power to take control of your treatment and get relief when you need it. PrimaBella is currently the only FDA cleared treatment, device, or drug available by prescription for nausea and vomiting in the USA.

My take: At this point I was willing to try anything. I received the PrimaBella around the 8th week of my pregnancy. It is simple to use and within minutes I had the unit working and my fingers crossed. You apply the conductivity gel to the underside of your wrist (two-finger widths below the crease in the wrist) place the PrimaBella and turn the unit on. I immediately t the tingling sensation in the middle of my palm and through my middle finger so I knew I had the correct placement.

I have been usingg the PrimaBella when I need it the most since the 8th week of pregnancy. While the nausea does not go away the PrimaBella definitely has taken away the “edge” of the most persistent nausea. One thing that I did not know until talking to the great folks at PrimaBella is that the unit is to be turned on for 20-30 minutes at a time since it only has 100 hours of working battery and the battery is non-replaceable.

The best times/places for me: in the car the PrimaBella is a lifesaver. We have the majority of our family several hours away and with the holiday season smack dab in the middle of my morning sickness I was grateful for the PrimaBella. My nausea is particularly worse during the 5-6 pm slot so I make sure to use the unit then. Now while it has greatly helped take the edge off the nausea the anusea continues to persist and during the peak weeks of 10-12 weeks I threw up every single day despite the PrimaBella. Since then it has only been nausea which is helped by the PrimaBella.

Other important things to consider…..You need a doctor’s prescription to use the PrimaBella. The cost? Some insurance companies cover at least a portion of the cost and the team at PrimaBella can find out that info for you. If your insurance does not cover the cost the PrimaBella is $169 per unit. For me the cost is well worth it since it has helped significantly decrease my nausea.
