Ever since they were little my children have loved to dance to music.  I was recently introduced to Babies and Boomers.

What is Babies and Boomers?   It is a lyrical approach to boosting speech and language skills.   It was developed for grandparents to be used with their grandchildren between the ages of 1-6 years old (but can be enjoyed by older siblings and parents).  Dr. Nancy Polow,  a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 40 years of experience,, developed this program.  There is nothing on the market designed to encourage communication skills and have fun at the same time.  Babies and Boomers was developed to fill this need.

This program consists of a booklet designed to compliment selected songs from your CD.  It includes the opportunity for children to listen; model and imitate speech and language; name objects and actions and interact with grandparents.

My take:  The childrens’ grandparents were not available when I reviewed this product so I gave it a try.  Once I listened to the music I was amazed at how many of the songs I recognized!  I love the booklet that is provided that has pictures of movements or phrases in the songs.  My 20 month old caught on quickly and was able to dance and model the behavior as well as sing certain words!  I can’t wait to try this with the grandparents.
