Each week I will be bringing you smoothie recipes to help give you some Healthy Options in your menu. If you are looking to drop some pounds or just maintain your current weight, replacing a meal with a smoothie is a great option. This week I’ve got a delicious smoothie that you’ll really enjoy. Protein powder can be chalky and not so tasty, when you add other ingredients to it the taste can change dramatically and you’ll never know you are enjoying something good for you! Did you know flax seed helps stave hunger? Yep! It sure does. Flax seeds helps keep you fuller longer. There’s also great fiber in this smoothie as well. It’s delicious and it’s good for you!
Chocolate, Granola, Flax & Protein Smoothie
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 Scoops of Chocolate Protein Powder
1 Cup of Almond Milk
15 chocolate chips
1/4 cup of Flax Seed (Save a little for topping)
1/4 cup of Granola (Save a little for topping)
The Flax and Granola as topping give it a great crunch
When preparing the smoothie I like to add the liquid first so the protein powder doesn’t get stuck at the bottom of the blender. So add the almond milk, then add the protein powder, chocolate chips, flax and granola. If you’d like to add more creaminess to the smoothie add a banana!
I like to pour my smoothies into a glass pilsner glass. They are tall for the whole smoothie and easy to clean.
