We had the opportunity to review the first set of VTech’s Switch and Go Dinos so when we were offered a chance to review the newest Dinos we were excited!
The ultimate kid’s toy, Switch & Go Dinos easily transform between a dinosaur and a vehicle in a few simple steps. In dinosaur mode, sound effect buttons emit realistic dinosaur sounds and phrases that teach facts about each dino, providing kids with fun and enriching playtime!
We reviewed four Dinos:
Jagger the T-Rex, one of the most awesome Switch & Go Dinos yet, transforms from a construction crane to a fierce Tyrannosaurus Rex. Featuring voice recognition technology, Jagger even recognizes and responds to specific voice commands. Say “Roar with me,” and hear him roar with his voice-activated motorized jaw.

My take: My boys jaws dropped in glee when they saw these dinos. I had them laid out ready to play one day when they got back from playing outdoors. I thought I was being so prepared becasue I read through the instruction manual figuring out how each dino transformed into their vehicle mode so I could show my kids. Little did I know because those boys were tranforming between the two modes faster than I ever thought possible with no help at all from me.
They had a great time and of course LOVE Jagger (I can’t get over how he responds to voice activation- quite simply one of the best features I have ever seen) and will fight daily over him. I have never seen a dinosaur or construction crane that responds to TWELVE voice commands!! We are talking a wide range from directions (forward or backwards), to play (roar with me, go wild, make me laugh) to educational (teach me something). Jagger even fires his drill which my husband thought was the best part. By using a simple voice prompt to gain his attention (dino mode: “Hello T-Rex, construction crane: “Hello Truck Driver”) he will then respond and you give your voice command. Forget the voice commands? Not a problem since there is a Command Mode Button to help you along.
Along with the super cool voice commands, he also has a drill launcher which can be launched with a simple press of a button, a crane button to adjust the crane’s, height and a tail button to turn on the truck’s headlights or make the Dino roar. The crane actually works and there is a a mini-transforming bulldozer as well. One words sums up Jagger: phenomenal.
As for the other three, they can’t choose a favorite. They love how Akuna turns into super fast motorcycle, how Torr is the best off-road vehicle ever and how Stompsalot turns into a really cool race car. I love how educational the toys are- from the dino facts and the fine motor coordination it takes to transform each one of them. The little details really add up to one great adventure- the eyes light up, the cool dino/vehicle sounds and the fact that the product is able to detect what mode it is in is amazing. I also LOVE the price for the smaller dinos. At $12.99 you are getting quite a lot for your money.
VTech is generously offering 1 lucky MommyPR reader a gift pack which will include three assorted smaller dinos!
