The Taking Care Of Yourself Giveaway

Listen, you can laugh and snicker all you want for what I am about to talk about but unless you walk a mile in my {and 75% of other people’s} shoes, you have no idea the pain of hemorrhoids. I have never been shy about telling people the pain that comes with those bad boys. Mine ended up getting so bad, that after my last child, I had to have a hemorrhoidectomy. Go ahead and Google Image that one. It will ruin your meal and probably make you cry like a baby. Does that mean I no longer have pain using the bathroom? Oh no, not at all. How could I ever get that lucky? With bouts of IBS and being Lactose, let me tell you that some days that lovely surgery is a figment of my imagination. Whatever cream I may have laying around the bathroom gets put right to use, and looking at the contents of RectiCare, I am thinking I could have used it years and years ago.

According to The National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse, about 75 percent of people may experience hemorrhoids at some point in their lives. Some of these hemorrhoids may be caused by a lack of fiber in one’s diet. This problem may be compounded around the holiday season when people tend to pay less attention to healthy eating and more attention to eggnog and fruitcake. Between family gatherings, festivities with friends and company parties, efforts to eat healthy and fiber-rich foods, may become lax. {And lets not forget birthing!!} Eating foods high in fiber, such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables, often helps to prevent hemorrhoids in some people. Examples of foods that are fiber-rich.

If you do have hemorrhoids and experience discomfort, a topical local anesthetic such as RectiCare Cream may help. RectiCare contains 5% lidocaine, which provides rapid relief from burning, itching and pain. RectiCare Cream retails for $29.95 and is available at drugstores nationwide without a prescription.

Lush

In addition, You learn real quick to take baths and not showers. The bath helps sooth your bottom and relax your muscles. Most doctors tell you to take a sitz bath (a hip level bath of warm or cool water with baking soda or salt). Those do help but I am hell bent on a LUSH bath. In fact if you look at my Instagram, I have posted a few up to date moments of me throwing in another LUSH bomb to calm my body down. My absolute favorite bomb is the AvoBath. If any of their products puts moisture back in you, its that one.

So what does all this have to do with a giveaway? You need to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! {It was that or The How To Save Your Arse Giveaway}
