Much to my delight, I opened the door to a fabulous delivery a few days ago! I am a big stir fry fan, although I have only made them in regular pans up to this point, they are a staple on our dinner menu. To find the Xtrema 11″ Wok at my door, caused me all kinds of excitement!
My first experience with Ceramcor was the FridgeX Bakeware and Storage review that I did in June. My first experience made a great impression on me and I have been a big fan of Ceramcor since then! It is not an exaggeration to say it was love at first site with my new Wok! Take a look at this beauty:

My Thoughts: First of all this Wok is beautiful! It is VERY heavy and seems like it will last a lifetime. I have a gas stove, and cooking with the Wok was easy – I just started with a medium flame for a minute or two and then increased it for just a little until it was time to add the veggies. Once I added them, I turned the heat down to a medium/low and everything cooked perfectly. I have to admit, I was a little worried about clean up – I didn’t want to scratch my shiny, pretty wok, so I looked up the instructions and it stated that I would not be able to scratch the Xtrema cookware surface. Well, that sounded kind of like a challenge so I got out the SOS pad and wiped the wok clean – and not a single scratch on the surface, no matter how hard I scrubbed! I’m thinking that it is going to be pretty hard for me to cause any damage to this pan!
I think the heaviness of the pan takes a little getting used to, but it seemed to hold the heat well and the heat seemed to be evenly distributed throughout the pan. I noticed that the leftovers stayed warm in the pan until we went up for seconds – which is very unusual for us. I also like that ceramic does not leak trace metals or chemicals into the food.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Xtrema Wok and look forward to many years of healthy cooking with it!
