The Great Mouse Detective
Every Saturday night we have a movie night and I love to introduce a movie that no one in my family had ever heard of: The Great Mouse Detective
Fans can experience Disney’s greatest little mystery, in High Definition picture and sound, and go on a great big adventure as “The Great Mouse Detective” Mystery in the Mist Edition on 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack and HD Digital. When the diabolical Professor Ratigan kidnaps London’s master toymaker, the brilliant Basil of Baker Street and his trusted sidekick Dawson try to elude the ultimate trap and foil the perfect crime. This family classic on Disney Blu-ray proves big heroes come in small packages.
My take: I was initially concerned because the first clip of this movie has Olivia’s fatehr being kidnapped while the little mouse was watching. The bat that stole the father was truly scary and my boys hid under blankets. The movie quickly turned to charming with great songs and the bat even became loveable with all his mutterings. Messages that my family took away from this movie….friendship, how to look for clues for detective work and we even learned a little more about the Diamond Jubilee!
