B. Toys Carousel Bells & Oddballs Review

I have always been delighted with each and every B. Toys product I have received and these next two are no exception.

B. ready for the unexpected.

You’re right. The colors are a little different.

We don’t spend a lot of time thinking about how things are supposed to be.

Instead, we create toys that inspire individuality.

The designs don’t line up with mathematical precision.

The look, feel and function are inspired by the world around us. By our children’s faces. Our dreams. Our own childhoods. Our travels. By Peruvian textiles and New England foliage. By a pretty bar of soap that gave us a moment of delight.

Our process? Part joy. Part love. Part mischief. Part serendipity.

You’ll notice even our packaging feels a little different, both in your hands and to the Earth. We try to make life easier for moms and dads whenever possible. And our commitment to children goes well beyond the one chasing his sister around the house with one of our drumsticks.

At the end of the day, our goal is to be bigger than a toy company.

We want to be a voice to children that says it’s okay to be curious, to be pensive, to be loud, to be happy and sad all at the same time, to be generous, to be afraid, to be quiet, to be wild, to be fun, to be open, to be scientific, to be poetic, to be giddy, to be serious, to be smart, to be free, to be you.

Just B. Just you. B. you.

I had the chance to review:

Oddballs:

If all you call for is the same old ball, then these are not your balls at all.

  • Four unique balls come in gorgeous patterns and colors to bounce, kick, squeeze, splash, roll, chase and love.
  • Each ball feels different, offering a unique sensory experience.
  • Each plays differently. (Just like kids.)
  • Chew away. They’re BPA-free.
  • Yes, there are an even number of them, but they’re still odd.

3.5″ diameter

Carousel Bells:

Dance to your own music. Play your own song. Ring it out from C to chiming C!

  • Real metal bells are beautiful to see and hear
  • Precision tuned C to C scale
  • Tap out perfect, clear notes with the mallet
  • Spin the carousel for a beautiful cascade of notes and color
  • Play it handheld or on the table
  • Store mallet in base (and save hide-and-seek for later)
  • Song sheet included with 7 play-along songs.

My take:  The Oddballs were supposed to be for my almost 3 month old daughter for when she got just a bit older but the boys snatched them up and they have been difficult to find since then.  The favorite characteristic of them all- the different textures of each one.  If you have a child who is tactile sensitive this would be a great tool for working on desensitizing.  I also love the fun bright colors.  The Carousel Bells are fun for us all, again the bright colors just really catch your eye and the boys have great fun with the mallet (it is soft so the occasional whack on the head the boys deliver to each other has not hurt) and I love how their interest in music is peaked with this product!
