#MomsOnBikes Getting In Some Fresh Summer Air
It has been one hot summer here in Washington. Amazing! Just in the last few weeks, I believe we have seen every number above 75 degrees. School doesn’t start here until September so the kids have lots of free time. My grandmother is visiting before we move and we are really staying busy. I have been jumping on my bike and trying to do at least one ride a day but even squeezing in 2 a day! Our Husky loves going for a run so much that now I just hook him up to my handlebar and let him run beside me. By the time we both get done, I’m not sure who is panting more!
Have you been able to get out of the house with your kids (or pets) lately?
Some fun things to do in August (on a bike!) are:
- Ride your bike to school with them- not only great for safety but encourages physical activty
- August 31st is National Trail Mix Day- Have fun and let the kids create their own trail mix snack, then go find a new bike trail (or make your own!)
- Play Hooky- Wake the kids up at the regular time (on a day the school is not in session) and pretend to let them play “hooky” with a spontaneous bike ride. Maybe to the store for ice cream!
I am a member of the #momsonbikes ambassador program.
