Guidecraft: Magneatos Jumbo Master Builder Series 296 pcs Review & Giveaway
Ever since my boys were little they have been fascinated with building (and knocking down) things. As they have grown older their imagination has soared and I have been running out of items for them to create masterpieces with. I recently had the opportunity as a Guidecraft Educator to pick out one item to review with my children. As a physical therapist I look for toys that will also help with coordination and fine motor skills and I continue to be impress with Guidecraft products.
I chose to review the Magneatos Jumbo Master Builder Series 296 pcs
Big and little builders can take their Magneatos Jumbo creations to the next level with the Master Builder sets. Our new series of panels, clips and bendies work with classic Magneatos Jumbo balls and rods to add a whole new dimension to building. Toddler Safe For AGES 3+.
Retails for $200.
My take: This product box was huge and we couldn’t wait to open it. Here are a couple of pictures of all the parts and pieces included:
Mom perspective: My boys have never played with magnetic construction sets so I knew they would be intrigued and boy was I right! Once we saw the “robot” on the box we decided that was going to be our first project. I love how many choices a child (and yes I count myself as a child when putting this together because it was so fun!) has in assembling a masterpiece. They can choose different colors of each piece, different lengths of rods, different shapes of panels and the fun addition of bendie rods which really added to the building experience.
Assembling the “robot” took tons of patience because if the parts were in correct alignment the bottom would rotate causing the downfall of the whole project. I really loved how the boys took turns, encouraged one another, the range of emotions that occurred when we had to start over and the utter delight on their faces when the “robot” was assembled. Below is a picture of our masterpiece:
The best part….the endless possibilities this series allows my children to have!
Physical therapist perspective: I was immediately taken with this set for several reasons. The first being how light weight every piece is which makes it very easy for smaller hands to build with. If you are looking for a project that practices fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, and working on spatial skills this set is for you. Every piece you put together requires all of the above skills. The panels need to be assembled with clips which further develops coordination skills. Spatially you need to align the pieces in a specific location to be successful. With all that being said, it is very easy for a child to be successful with this series because of the limitless possibilities.
