Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator

I have always wanted a laminator to help preserve special memories, and now that my oldest has started first grade last week I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review a Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator to help prepare for being back at school and most importantly to help preserve the special cherished projects he makes for me.

I received the following:

Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator:

  • The laminator offers many features including:
    • HeatGuard™ Technology: Double-walled insulation keeps heat inside so laminator is comfortable to touch, making it safe for homes with children
    • Advanced Temperature Control: Hot and cold laminating capabilities ensure consistent, smooth results every time
    • Jam Release Lever: Permits easy removal or re-centering of stalled pouches.

My take:  Having never used a laminator before I was shocked at how easy this laminator was to use.  Simply plug into a wall, turn the on switch, select your size and wait for the unit to heat up (if you are using the hot laminator selection).  Using the laminator pouches, place your picture into the pouch.

Feed the paper into the machine and within seconds you have a professional laminated project completed.  The laminator even has guides located on the front to ensure you are lining your project correctly.

I love the features of the heat guard technology and jam release lever especially  having two boys who are eager to help mom out.  Knowing their eager little hands don’t have the opportunity to get burnt when quickly reaching for the finished project gives this mom peace of mind.

So far we have protected several key items such as photo of newborn sister (very important to show off you know), name tag for backpack and monthly cafeteria menu.  The photo of the new sister has withstood several pairs of grubby inquisitive hands and continues to look brand new.  The name tag for the backpack is definitely more durable and will last for the whole school year instead of just two months like the last year model.  The cafeteria menu offers a quick way for the six year old to grab it each day and decide whether he wants hot lunch or a lunch packed from home with no more torn or wrinkled pages by the end of the month.

I wish I would have had the laminator last year for all the truly creative one of the kind drawings he completed in kindergarten.  Want more ideas for back to school projects?  Visit Fellowes Idea Center.

My daughters went back to school for a few weeks ago, so I’m already overwhelmed with paper. I have papers with assignment lists for the entire year, worksheets, notices, guidelines and more. Since things rarely last more than a few days around here without meeting some sticky fingers, I’ve been laminating all of our important papers. Now laminated, the papers will be much easier to keep clean and in great condition for the rest of the year.
