Eddie Bauer Back to School Products

I have always been a huge fan of Eddie Bauer and now that I have children the admiration for this company continues to grow.  The boys and I recently had the opportunity to review some great new products available from Eddie Bauer.

The boys each had an opportunity to pick out a jacket.  The six year old chose the MicroTherm Down Sweater w/ Hood

An incredibly thin and lightweight hoodie with 800 fill Premium European Goose Down to keep your little adventurer cozy and warm. Nylon shell. Stretch back panels for ease of movement. Zippered front pockets. Imported.

Retails for $89.95.

The four year old chose the Limited Edition Downlight Sweater w/ Hood

This hooded version of our best-selling Downlight Sweater is insulated with 600 fill Premium European Goose Down for reliable, lightweight warmth during any outdoor adventure. Elastic binding at hem and cuffs seals in heat. Zippered handwarmer pockets. Imported.

Retails for $99

We also had the opportunity to review the Adventurer® Backpack:

Big enough for your essentials, light enough to carry all day. Inside organizer panel with key fob. Sternum strap on front connects shoulder straps across your chest for additional security. Large adjustable mesh pocket; side mesh pockets. Rubber haul handle. Constructed of durable 420-denier nylon, with a hefty 1680-denier ballistic nylon bottom. Capacity: 1,831 cubic inches/ 30 liters. Imported.

Retails for $79.95 but is currently on sale for $59.95.

My take:  Even though it is hot as Hades here the boys insisted on trying the jackets on immediately once I opened the box.  They mistakenly thought they were spring/fall jackets and I can understand their misconception since these coats are super light weight.  The six year old has already told me he can’t wait for winter so he can wear this coat because it won’t get in his way of playing.  I also admire the attention to detail, there is elastic around the hoods which allows for a more secure fit around the head, the area around each zipper (pockets and main zipper) have different color piping which really makes the coats more striking.  Within minutes each boy was hastily taking their coat off because it was “way too hot” which is exactly what I want to hear for those cold winter months ahead of us.

As for the backpack- this is one durable pack with great contrasting colors.  I love all the pockets/compartments that are available and most importantly how comfortable it is to wear.
