Target “Big Honkin’ Summer

Summer has hit in a big way around here.  For the past 2 weeks we have had record breaking heat and for a 38 week pregnant mom this could have easily lead to long summer days trapped in the house. Thanks to Target I have found ways to keep my boys entertained during this hot, hot weather.

The kids have always wanted to have a lemonade stand and I am constantly looking for activities that will keep them moving.  We recently were given the chance to review some really great items.

My take:  Since it is simply to hot to have a lemonade stand outside, we decided to have our own lemonade stand in the basement.  Here are some pictures:

The boys had a great time serving lemonade to one another, to all of their stuffed animals and of course to mom.  I love the bright happy colors and how important they felt while running this lemonade stand.  I keep telling them it is good to practice so when the weather calms down a bit they will be pros at running their stand!

They were also thrilled with their Toy Golf Club with Ball Set and Giant Badminton Set.  Once again the fun bright colors brought smiles to their faces and I love how light weight everything is so we don’t have injuries when something bangs into various body parts.  They are able to play with both sets down in the basement and run themselves ragged which I love to see.

As for the crafting aspect, the Kid Made Modern Printed Tape Set and Kid Made Modern Board Book Kit were great for some much needed quiet time activities.  I have never seen the printed tape set and while it got a little sticky we all had a great time!
