#DibsOnMyRibs Cookout, Contest & $20 Walmart Gift Card Giveaway { 10 Winners! }

If it’s one thing my family does not know how to cook, its ribs! Right now, I am currently not eating pork, but boy it made it hard watching my husband read up on how to make the perfect ribs on our smoker. Tyson, Walmart, Kraft, McCormick & One2One Network sent us a crazy kit to get started.

Our grilling kit included:

  • Ultimate Rib Grilling Rack
  • Grillmark 3 Piece BBQ Tool Set
  • Sauce Bucket and Mop
  • Cutting Board (sized for rib prep and transfer)
  • Wood Chip Set with 6 flavors of wood
  • Wet-Naps for those messy fingers
  • Kraft Basting Brush
  • McCormick seasonings
  • Branded Grilling Apron
  • Tyson branded 6-pack Lunchbox Cooler
  • $20 Walmart Gift Card
We ventured off to our local  Walmart to find the perfect Tyson Spareribs. Even though our kit included a killer Grilling Rack that hold 4 slabs, since it was just us we just picked up 1 rack of ribs. The BBQ sauces were endless, original, chipotle, brown sugar, and finally we ended up picking Kraft Hickory Smoke.
When we got home, hubby went and got online to figure out exactly why we always screw this up and how not to do it this time. I usually put the BBQ sauce on 1st, and then it burns. Hubby usually picks pre made ribs, or once we picked a set that had absolutely no meat on them and I cut them in pieces before grilling. I tell you if its not burgers or hot dogs, we can ruin it on the grill.
A quick walk through on YouTube and he was at work on them. He heated up the grill with charcoal, and began to trim the edges of any excess skin and fat. We never even knew you were suppose to or should do that. Then he rubbed McCormick Sweet & Smoky Rub all over, placed it on the grilling rack and set it in the now cooled down smoker. The tutorial said for the best ribs, you should let them smoke for quite some time in lower heat.
He left them in there for a couple hours (I lost track of how long, but I would advise starting early!).  When they came out, they looked brown and amazingly juicy. He brushed on some of the BBQ sauce and my mouth was watering. Even though I am off pork, I had to try a piece. It was extremely juicy, and there was plenty of meat on this rack.
Between my 2 daughters, their friend and my husband, the ribs were gone in no time. Even the dog got to lick the bones.

Look how yummy they are!
