Upgrade Your Backyard & Win a $25 #SummerWithSears Gift Card

I have wanted a backyard makeover so bad. I just wanted the key pieces and not spend a fortune. It’s been 3 years in this house, and we have this great big backyard with nothing but a sandbox and grill. No where to sit, and just wishful thinking.

Finally, and I mean FINALLY, I scored a table with 4 chairs and umbrella for $135 plus a fire-pit for $30. I picked up a kids picnic table for less than $35 also and a few kid chairs for $6. I redid our whole patio and backyard for about $215!

Check out the finished design:

We spend much more time outdoors now that it feels like home. The girls love having friends over for s’mores and hot dogs on the fire-pit, and we like to sit outside (even when its raining!) under the umbrella.

We planted flowering vines that now cover the fence. It’s a perfect backdrop for the table and umbrella. I would like to add a small fountain.

Our backyard is in rough shape at the moment but slowly we are making it nice. We need to plant grass and flowers and rebuild the deck. Once all that is done it will be a nice place. It is a rather large yard especially for Florida. Oh and get the kids a big super nice wing set! =)

We waited years to have a backyard of our own… and then it finally happened! So it’s been fun making it into our dream yard these last few years. We started with a garden area. My husband planted trees, bushes, and flowers there and accented with bricks and lots of ornaments.

We have a patio or deck on the agenda for spring… and the furniture to go with it. I can’t wait to get started on it and complete our back yard oasis!
