In the animated adventure Brave, Merida is a beautiful Scottish princess with fiery red hair and the spirit to match. Girls can recreate Merida’s life in the kingdom with this two-story castle, which features a bedroom with bed and a kitchen with table and chairs. For even more fun adventures, girls can send Merida out into the “forest” with her trusty horse, Angus, and her beloved archery set.

My take:   While I knew my boys would love the Castle & Forest Playset I was fully prepared for the doll to go to my niece.  However once my 4 year old saw it he claimed the doll as his own.  The boys love the hidden suprise of finding the triplets in the castle, in fact that is what they pretend to do the majority of the time playing hide and seek with the triplets seeking them as Merida and Angus.  I like the forest that is attached to the castle as it adds a whole different play area.  Be cautious of some of the accessories- the bed easily comes apart (I finally taped it together) and if you are not careful the lid to the chest can snap off- of course having 2 rough and tumble boys doesn’t help either.  As for the doll- the 2 sided cape is gogeous as is Merida’s hair.  We ultimately decided to attach the gems to her dress giving her a “beautiful look Mommy”.
