Fill In The Blankie Review & $150 GC Giveaway

Fill In The Blankie offers customers up to 200 characters to personalize a story around the satin trim of the blanket of their choice. So, its not just a monogram, a name and/or a birthdate…

Example”
Side 1: Ethan Karl Lilly was born on March 2nd, 2008 at 10:15am
Side 2: He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 21 inches long
Side 3: His mommy’s name is Sarah and his daddy is Todd
Side 4: Ethan, welcome to this magical world. We love you so much.

The customer has 4 blank fields to use up to 50 characters per line — so, the options are endless… And of course — we also offer up copy suggestions for inspiration.

I was offered the chance to review a Fill In The Blankie and I felt it was perfect for my youngest who had just learned a nursery rhyme and loved blankies. I chose Natalie’s On Cloud 9 blanket, in Honeydew & Ivory to start ($109). It had the softness factor I wanted and the material I knew Ariel would like the most.

Then I started designing it. I chose to create my own words with her favorite nursery rhyme:

  • Side 1- Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat and The Fiddle
  • Side 2- The Cow Jumped Over The Moon
  • Side 3- The Little Dog Laughed To See Such Sport
  • Side 4- And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon

I can not remember the font I choose but it’s very similar to Sleep Tight 6.  For the thread, I choose the Glow In The Dark Pale Pink ($18) ! How cool is that! The lettering will glow at night, so she can still see her favorite words.  You can also add a character or embroidery so I added a shooting star to the beginning and end of each side ($9).  Over all, plus $9.95 shipping, my total was $145.95.

These blankets are keepsakes. This isn’t a regular blanket from Walmart or something you can just go pick up. This is a present to invest in and have made for a gift, remembrance, or birth. If I could rewind back to the birth of my daughters, this is something I would have had made with their birthdays and info on. They are gorgeous, well made, beautifully stitched blankets. The prices do range though, you can get one of these made for just around $39 and upwards. I chose a more luxury one because I was looking for a certain fabric.

My daughter does like it, and personally, I love watching her face when she carries it around. She calls it “the blankie with words” LOL.
