Journal10: A Tool For Documenting Life Review

I have no doubt that every person reading this has once picked up an old yearbook, or found an old stack of photographs, or found an old notebook and you picked it up, flipped through the pages or the photos reminiscing and remembering all the memories the yearbook, photos or notebook hold for you. I’m getting nostalgic just thinking about these times – sitting quietly by myself smiling about the little things I told myself I’d never forget.

I didn’t think it was possible to recall these types of memories every single day of the year…and then I was introduced to the Journal10+. Quite possibly the most brilliant journal I’ve ever seen! This journal is a daily calendar/planner that holds 10 years of your thoughts and memories all in one location.

After I first heard about a 10 year journal I wondered first, how BIG is this thing? Then second, how exactly can you reminisce every day for the next 10 years?  The answer to the second question also answers my first. The journal is not set up how I had imagined (year 2012 from pages 1-365, year 2013 from pages 366-731,etc). Instead, the journal puts Monday, January 01, 2012 on the first page….and under that is January 01, 2013…on the same page! Each January 01 for the full 10 years is on the same page, each January 02 is on the next full page, all the way through the calendar year. Before each month starts, there is a full month page which details what day falls on each calendar day for the full 10 years. For instance, April 1st in 2018 is on a Sunday, but April 1st in 2020 is a Wednesday.

Some of the features of the Journal10+ include:
- Ample space provided per day to jot down thoughts, feelings, weather, medical stats, whatever you would like
- A long-term planner section
- An annual page devoted for goals and accomplishments
- An address and phone number book
- A monthly area to jot down birthdays, anniversarys and other special occassions you don’t want to forget
- “Carry-Over” pages for you to fill up if you overflow your thoughts on that particular day
- “Leatherette” bound to make sure your Journal lasts longer than 10 years
- Not huge or bulky like I originally wondered, it’s the size of a normal book
- New Journal10s printed every year, so if you get one as a gift this year, you can pick up a new one in 2013 (which will last thru 2023) for yourself!

I cannot wait to begin using my journal on a daily basis in 2012. I’ve already started adding little notes and reminders (birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, etc) to my journal. For me, this is an amazing journal because I have the worst memory! But I can see this being a great gift for parents and grand parents to document baby’s first steps, first meal, first time going potty unassisted! All of life’s little joys can be documented each day, and every year thereafter you will get to smile about it. And being 10 years long, you don’t have to re-write all those special occasions in a new planner every year (well, you at least get a break from it for 10 years)!

A great, unique, smart gift that will bring joy to its recipient for years to come!
