SolPals Solar Power Night Light Review & Giveaway

On our last evening walking around the ABC Kids expo, I noticed a night light company that used Solar Power. I am such a fan of solar, wind powered or any sort of eco friendly way to energize things. I quickly jerked Andrea back and said, I have to see this for sure.

What a simple yet needed way to light a room at night! All you do is suction the base to the window and maneuver the head through the blinds or curtain. The LED does not get hot, so it never poses a risk of fire. Also, should you live in a rain or cloudy area (such as myself), there is a back up battery section that uses AAs.

I have to tell you the suction cups on this are heavy duty. There is no way its falling, and if it does, it will probably catch on the blinds anyways and you probably wont notice for a while.

The neck of the light is 360 bendable so you can either point it towards your child’s bed or away. As you can see from my photo below, its bright enough to scare away monsters, but not enough to keep them awake.

SolPals has come up with a light that uses both a recharegeable battery and two backup, alkaline batteries. The reason for the two batteries is to insure adequate power –Solar only works when there is sun. The more exposure to daylight, the longer the charge, just as less exposure to daylight means a shorter charge. All SolPals’ lights have the option to either use solar power only or to use built-in technology that utilizes the stored solar energy first then, if necessary, will automatically switch to two backup, alkaline batteries.

Our favorite aspect is the fact that it poses no fire risk. I am very worried about leaving a light on, not blowing out a candle, always checking those plug in warmers, etc. So to have something so close to curtains or blinds, is scary enough. Its great to know there are products out there safe for the environment and children. Also, there are no wires, nothing to plugin. Or should I say, nothing for my 4 year old to TRY and plug in.

This light is perfect to take on trips too. It has 6 LED lights in the center, and then illuminates the clear sections during the night. For $30 I think its a great investment, since the lights wont dim or go out for at least 20 yrs.

SolPals charges during the day, and automatically turns on and off.  It will save you money on your electric bill and is great in case of emergency power outages. Perfect for all ages.
