One of the best things about being a Guidecraft Educator is the chance to share with you some really great products!

Guidecraft Universal Book Display and Storage

The best of two proven classroom essentials! Display and easily select traditional size books from five tiered shelves on one side and store big books on the second side of this ergonomically designed, mobile storage unit. Material: Birch Ply. 36.5 x 23.5 x 30.5 – 40lbs

Retails for $200.00

My take:  Set-up was simple…no power tools needed for this one.  One allen wrench (which was included) was all that was needed.  Here are a couple of pictures of the setup:

Here are all the pieces included:

Installing the sides:

Next the bottom pieces:

The rods:

Lastly the top piece:

Each piece was extremely well wrapped and protected no scratches or dents present.

Our biggest problem before having this bookcase was where to place the large books that didn’t fit in the bookshelves.  Here is where we kept them:

Here is the finished product with books on each side:

Large books

Front shelf

Mom perspective:  I really like how each of the boys can easily reach any and all books displayed in this bookcase.  The bookcase is also heavy so I don’t have to worry about it falling over on top of the boys.  The rods keep my large books in an accessible place and don’t have to be stacked on the bottom of a shelf where they can’t be seen.  Since they can see the front cover of each one of the books it is like they are discovering the books again.  The best aspect:  they are able to correctly place the books back on the shelves instead of creating towering messes that always fall over.

Teacher perspective:   Having the front covers displayed prominently makes the children gravitate towards this book display.

Physical therapist perspective:  Having the books at eye level and varying heights makes the hand eye coordination for reaching and putting books away optimal for children.

Guidecraft is generously offering 1 very lucky MommyPR reader their very own Universal Book Display!
