PowerSharp Review & Giveaway
The men in my family recently had the opportunity to review a precision saw chain sharpening system from PowerSharp.
A chainsaw sharpener that sharpens chain on the saw, on the job, in seconds, PowerSharp is a tool made for DIY dads. People who use chainsaws do so because they’re fast. But saw chain can quickly get dull if it runs into dirt or hits a rock Before PowerSharp came onto the scene, the only way to sharpen chain was to do so manually, which can take 30 minutes or more.
The PowerSharp® saw chain has 3 key features that make it different from all other saw chain. First, the cutters are top sharpening, making it possible to sharpen them with a simple attachment. Second, a diamond-coated dresser link “dresses” the sharpening stone, resurfacing it for optimum honing angles. Finally, the cutters work together with the depth gauges and guidance drive links to stabilize the cutter as it contacts the stone, ensuring a consistent edge across the entire cutting surface.
It takes as little as 3 seconds to sharpen the chain, although extreme dulling may require more sharpening. Sharpen for 3-5 seconds, then make a test cut. Repeat sharpening if necessary.
My take: To be blunt- I have never used a chainsaw and do not see myself using one in the near future so I knew this would be perfect for my husband and father-in-law to test in my father-in-law’s 100+ acre woods. We all were amazed at how small the PowerSharp was (since it attaches to the end of your already owned chainsaw) and quite skeptical that it would actually sharpen the chainsaw’s blade. It was really put to the test cutting down trees and minimizing stumps. An effort was made to run the blade into the dirt multiple times to really dull the blade (the things I learn with reviews LOL). The PowerSharp was attached, used for 3 seconds and the real test began. I heard words like “amazing, cuts sharper than the first time” being uttered from the mens’ mouths. The highest praise- “PowerSharp did an A+ job in sharpening the blade”.
When asked about the negative aspects of PowerSharp no one could give me an answer which I thought was pretty impressive.
PowerSharp is generously offering 1 lucky MommyPR reader their very own PowerSharp (The catch is that the winner will need to be certain their chainsaw is compatible with PowerSharp. They’ll just need to go to the Product Selector guide on www.powersharp.com to make certain it is).

Well I wouldn’t like it for myself but I would like to win it for my boyfriend. He cuts wood in the winter and I know this would come in handy to sharpen his chain saw.

I want to win because I have a saw that I use occasionally. I know the blades get dull and this would be perfect to remedy that!

I would like to own a PowerSharp because it looks very useful!
I would like to own a PowerSharp to make sharpening my chain saw easier. Sharpening it manually takes a long time and is very difficult.
