Huffy Moms On Bikes Panama Jack Bike Review
Do you live some where that your heart isn’t? Living in Washington, it rains next to every day. I’m surprised our weather man isn’t out of a job since its completely predictable to know what tomorrow will bring. Hum, cloudy with a chance of rain or rain with a chance of cloudy. Either way, my heart squeals for the beach. Somewhere with hot white sand, warm waters, and surfers to make you drool. Florida ? Hawaii? Carolina? Any of those will do.
That is pretty much the story behind why I asked for the Panama Jack. It screamed ‘easy going‘. Just looking at it made me think of myself as a 20-something, size 5, in a 2 piece bikini, drinking a cold coke while riding down the boardwalk. It has this vintage yet modern look about it. Something old, something new.
Just strap your cooler to the back, put your coke in your bottle holder, and your sun oil in the front pouch. You are your own beach babe on this bike! It’s what every teen girl needs to be cool and what every mom needs to just get away from it all.
Features:
- Wide padded saddle with springs for comfort
- Painted steel fenders for a vintage look while it keeps the rain and dirt away
- Weather-resistant painted alloy rims save weight
- Alloy quick-release seat post makes adjustments a snap
- Easy coaster brake
- Wide white wall tires for smooth riding
- Wide sweep cruiser handlebar for a comfortable upright riding position
- Leather handlebar bag and bottle holder
- Adjustable rear rack
My favorite features on this bike have to be the whole novelty look of the classic Panama Jack style. From the white rim tires, wood grain style handlebars, to the bottle cap opener, its a true huffy cruiser. Also, as stated above, it rains allot here. Having weather resistant alloy rims makes me feel better in case it gets left outside or just riding in the weather.
How did it ride? At first it takes some getting use to for me. I am on the short side and even though this bike is a 26 inch, the cruiser style sits differently than most. It feels a little higher and has a tad more bounce than road or mountain bikes. Coming to a stop will remind you of when you were 10 again. No handle brakes, the good ‘ol petal backwards stop. The handle bars sit wide so you will be sitting straight up while you ride. This is not a bike for long distance traveling, it is just what its called ‘a beach cruiser’. Short outings without the kids while you just wash away the stress of the day, or maybe riding up to the local quick mart for a slushie.
