Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop Review

I must admit the absolute favorite portion of a meal is dessert. I recently had the opportunity to review some yummy desserts from Sweet Sally’s.

Sweet Sally’s home baked goods and sweet gifts will remind you of those childhood years when life was simple and just the smell of oven baked cookies would bring a smile to your face. You’ll experience my family’s time honored traditional recipes.

I reviewed:

Big Apple Heart Cracker

A crunchy combination of bittersweet chocolate, buttery caramel and adorable mini hearts. The perfect gift for any sweetheart on your list

Right Sized Chocolate Rugelach

A traditional pastry filled with chocolate, currants and jam; all rolled by hand into a three bite delicacy and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for extra sweetness. Just like Grama Gracie used to make

Chewy Coconut Macaroons- Gluten Free

Gluten Free! A Passover delight that can be enjoyed all year long. These flourless macaroons have a crunchy exterior and a rich chewy center

Rainy Day Fudge Brownies

A dense and fudgy brownie loaded with chocolate. Nuts available upon request

My take: I have to talk about my hands down favorite first- the Big Apple Heart Cracker. If you like sweet and salty combinations this is perfect for you. It really does balance the sweetness and saltiness just right. Call me a meanie but this is the one dessert I didn’t share with my boys and kept all to myself.

I am not a huge fan of cocunuts but was pleasantly surprised by the macaroons. The boys gobbled up the rainy day brownies and kept asking for more. The Rugelach was not a favorite of my boys but I thought it was pretty tasty. I really like Sweet Sally’s because of the great desserts and the fact that she has a little story about each product that really makes you feel like part of the family.
