TruBamboo Cutting Board Review and Giveaway
TruBamboo, LLC recently sent me the large dishwasher safe bamboo cutting board (made with 100% bamboo) for review. For starters, I have to give you a little background on bamboo. I couldn’t have put this in better words myself, so I’m going to share this info from the back of the label of my bamboo cutting board:
Bamboo is a Renewable Resource! Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant in the world, in fact, when placed in the proper climate certain types of bamboo can grow up to 8 feet a day. The reason that bamboo can grow so fast is because it is a grass not a tree. When harvested, 1/3 of the stalk will fully grow back within one year, thus making bamboo an excellent alternative to hardwoods.
I love any and all kitchen products, but kitchen products that are easy to clean and maintain while at the same time being environmentally friendly make the top of my list! I was impressed with my cutting board when I first pulled it out of the box – only 0.36 inches in height makes it very slim. The only other cutting boards I have this slim are plastic or glass ones. After reading the blurb that bamboo actually qualifies as a grass not a tree surprised me even further. I figured that a grass cutting board is not durable and strong, especially one as thin as this one. Well, was I in for a surprise! My TruBamboo cutting board is stronger than my other cutting boards, and will even show less knife marks over time than my other wooden boards. When it’s time for clean up, just toss is in the dishwasher with all your other dirty dishes, then polish it up with an oil wipe once it’s clean to ensure durability and long life of your board. So in other words, this is my new favorite cutting board! Every time I need to cut/slice/chop something, no matter how small or large, I grab this board first!

My fave is the Medium HDPE Cutting Board
I like the Fish Board in the Key West Collection.
I know we're supposed to put something other than the product you reviewed here but I absolutely LOVE wooden cutting boards (esp. since this one is dishwasher safe)! I did look at the canisters, plastic cutting boards, etc. though.

I like the Large Bamboo Storage Container!
I love the Key West Fish Set because it's cute and the Palm Beach Butcher Block because it's heavy duty. I like the whole Bimini collection because it's a nifty shape. I actually have a couple of cutting boards from the Bermuda Set. I love bamboo in particular because I have a tropical island theme in my kitchen.
Thanks for the giveaway… like the Guana Large Cutting Board !
