I have sadly come to learn that my cat has a mind of his own. Yep, i cant force my kitty to like what i like. Sad times. ha!

I love organic and natural products anymore. I’m not sure when i turned that way, but i recycle nonstop now, i buy tons more green products, and when we got our new kitty, i knew i was going to buy only green litter. I found starting him out with that immediately would help him and i both. So far so good.

I chose to review a new cat litter called Close To Naturenow by The Organic Farm Store. (They are a local Washington company by the way).

It had everything i wanted in an organic cat litter. It arrived and i was thrilled with the mixture and scent. I emptied my cats litter box completely (which i later found out was not right lol) and poured in the new litter.

Well i never saw what was to happen next. My kitty, Midnight the spoiled brat, decided he not only did not like it, but ran outside to pee on my patio rocks lol. So i figured this was just a phase and i would stay strong and make him use it. Yay, he won. He went to the bathroom maybe a hand-full of times in it, but he was more stubborn than me. I finally broke down and purchased his usual brand. Darn it.

So my view is: I liked this litter alot. I found it didn’t track too much (although you have to expect some tracking from any litter), it was safe for my children and my cat to be around, plus its completely biodegradable. Shoot, if i lived in the country, i would be using this in my compost! It looks so rich, pure and natural.

My cats view: He pleads the 5th.

Overall: I should have slowly introduced the litter to him, which could be reasons for him being so stand offish. Also, you probably understand that not all cats will take to a switch-eroo so easy. Mine seems to be a diva. (Wait till he sees the new food he has coming, bet i win that one … lol.)

I have to say though, if you are worried about price, i have always found natural litters to last longer and be more valuable for my money.
