SoleMates Review & Giveaway

Only a few years ago, you would never have caught me in a pair of heels. When I joined the business arena, heels started to grow on me and now during the workweek I wear heels almost exclusively at work. Since I’ve only been wearing heels for a couple years, I still have beginner’s problems. Don’t get me wrong, I carry myself well when I’m sporting a cute pair of stilettos, but the small surface area of the tip of the heel likes to find trouble for itself – sinking into grass or mud, getting stuck in cracks in the sidewalk, etc.

The founders of SoleMates heard the plea of women like me! We don’t want to sacrifice cute, stylish heels just because we don’t want to get stuck or sink while walking around town. SoleMates are small heel caps that you slip onto the tip of the heel. SoleMates prevent heels from getting stuck in cracks or metal grates on city sidewalks, prevent you from sinking into grass or mud, and most importantly, give you slightly more surface area to improve stability! For clumsy people like me, increased stability is a life-saver (or maybe a broken-ankle-saver)!

I used this review as the perfect excuse to buy a new pair of heels – I wanted to start my review with a new pair of heels and a new set of SoleMates. Being a bargain hunter and coupon fiend, I managed to snag a pair of stilettos at a popular store regularly priced $55, but I only paid $10 (I was so excited about my buy, I just HAD to share my excitement!) Once at home, I slipped on my heels and popped on the SoleMates. Since these are new heels, they didn’t have any wear on the soles, so it took me a minute to shimmy the SoleMates into place. It’s a snug fit, which is perfect because I won’t want them to accidentally slip off during wear. The SoleMates are awesome! The improved stability is noticeable and I even purposefully walked over cracks and grates on the sidewalks and had no problem with any stuck heels!

At my house, I’ve had wintry-mix and rain on and off for the past two weeks. You would think it’d make a perfect opportunity for me to test the SoleMates in the damp grass, but the ground is SO saturated that even when I’m wearing flats or tennis shoes, I sink into the ground. Since these are brand new heels, I don’t really want to test them in the mud. But I know that when it’s not miserably wet outside, the SoulMates would work great for grassy outdoor festivities! I will be attending a couple spring weddings coming up next year, and I know these will work great. I might even get a pair of the clear SoleMates for the brides since they make great stock stuffers for ANY shoe lover!
