I got the nikon d3000 for Christmas and I'm still learning new things about it. Even though this camera is positioned as a beginner DSLR it is still a great camera that you can grow into for years before upgrading.
i also take pictures with the 35mm camera so for me seeing the image on the screen before taking the picture was not a big deal for me (sales people tried to sell me on that when I was doing my research before purchasing).
The pictures are very clear and crisp. This is an expensive hobby and I'm finding myself always "needing" new accessories for the camera. With spring arriving soon I can't wait to get this camera outside to see what it can really do.
Enjoyed your reviews and will look for others.

Oh! This is cool! I don't know how I missed this- I have a canon SX10is and it is considered to be an advanced P&S because it has DSLR features but does not have all of the abilities and no changing lenses although I have heard I should be able to attach one... Still need to check that out.
Those pics turned out great! Do you already do photography at all? I hate to even ask- It shows I still havenot read your entire Blog- LOL
That camera is very impressive and an impressive price for a DSLR also- even at $600-
Thx
