90 Day Health & Fitness Challenge: P90X Update
Well the 90 Day Health & Fitness Challenge is coming to a close. There is about 2 1/2 weeks left on my P90X program. As usual I am forcing myself to workout every day. I was hoping by now that I would be eager to do my daily workout, but I still have to talk myself into it each day. However, once I get started it feels good and I am always glad that I did the workout! The hardest part of the whole program is making yourself stick with it. So many times I have wanted to skip a workout, but I knew if I started skipping it would just make it easier to do it again.
Our original Thanksgiving plans fell through so we went out for dinner. I thought this might be the best way to avoid all of the tempting leftovers. So I ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and immediately divided everything in half. I was over stuffed a few minutes after I ate (everyone else finished their entire meal by the way) and let me tell you I paid for it later! A couple of hours after I ate I had the worst stomach ache that lasted almost the entire next day! Maybe it was all the fat or extra calories that I probably had, I’m not sure but I haven’t felt that full or bad for a long time. Probably for about 75 days or so at least
Let me share something funny that happened recently while I was sneaking a Sunday afternoon nap. I woke up laying on my side with one arm under my head and the other hand resting on that arms bicep. I noticed that my hand was curled around something roundish and hard. It finally hit me that this was not a tumor or some strange growth that I was feeling but instead it was my newly created muscle! Holy cow when did that get there???? Of course I had to go find my husband and show him – he was properly impressed lol!
Not only that but I have also noticed that I can easily carry my 40 lb daughter around. I could not do that before! I can even carry around my 70 lb daughter, but its a bit more awkward since she is almost the same height as me. In fact my oldest daughter was hugging on me the other day and she complained “Awwww Mom, I wish you would go off the diet you’re just not squishy anymore!” She meant this as a complaint, but I felt it was quite a compliment! I assured her that there is still plenty of squish left for now…
I have already decided that I will be going with a round two of P90X and this time instead of following the Lean Program like I did this time, I will be following the Classic Program. The Classic has more weight training than the Lean Program does and I am really enjoying the weight training so much more than I ever thought I would. I do love feeling strong!
I will be taking two or three weeks off before I start back up though, my body needs a break! When I say taking off I mean just doing regular old workouts – not extreme P90X workouts. I am going to get out some of my old exercise dvd’s and see how I do. I have a feeling that my old “challenging” workouts will not seem all that bad anymore!
I will give you my full opinion on P90X in my next and final post, but let me just say that if you are thinking you are going to make a new years resolution to step up and make a change – if you are really going to commit to following a program and doing the workouts – you can’t go wrong with P90X. It’s hard and you will sweat – A LOT – but you will get results!

First let me just say that you all are awesome for following along and supporting me!!!! I will be posting my 90 day pictures with my next post – I PROMISE!!! I’m just hoping you can see the difference and I don’t disappoint you. You will all just have to tell me when I post them – I see myself everyday so it’s a little hard for me to see the changes sometimes… so yes pictures will be coming for sure
