Lenovo IdeaPad U350 Review & Giveaway

Lenovo Winner 2

Lenovo Winner

If you thought the opportunity to win two Lenovo netbooks was amazing, you are going to LOVE this! I have a brand spanking new Lenovo IdeaPad U350 to send to a very lucky Mommy PR winner! (ARV $629)

This is an awesome laptop through and through! As soon as I pushed the power button for the first time, I knew I was going to love it and I know in only a couple short weeks I have to ship it to the Mommy PR winner so I shouldn’t get attached. But as I was clicking around on the U350 last night, I was beginning to wish I didn’t have to part with it.

IdeaPad U350 Side view
I currently have a laptop (not a Lenovo) that serves its purpose well but does not have many exciting or new features. The first thing I noticed about the IdeaPad U350 that my own laptop cannot boast about is that it’s super thin and light! I was able to easily pick up and tote around the laptop with one hand. If I try to do the same with my own laptop, I usually risk dropping it since it’s much heavier and bulkier. The U350 also has a built-in camera, but my laptop does not. When I turned on the U350 for the first time, it asked me to verify my identity (using the camera to capture an image of me) with “Veriface” or leave a message for the laptop’s owner. I quickly grabbed the instruction manual to figure out what to do since the laptop had never been used before. Luckily, after a moment it took me to the registration and initial set-up screen. If I’m feeling nice the day I pack up the U350 for the winner, I will disable the Veriface, otherwise you’ll have no choice but to ship it back to me to unlock it ;)

Additionally, the U350 quickly and easily picked up my home wireless internet signal, which is typically not so easy for me to convince my own laptop to do. The IdeaPad also has amazing graphics. I’m not a big gamer but I can still see the difference between poor and quality graphics, and this laptop has got it going on! I immediately set the background picture to a lovely, vibrant holiday theme, in case you want to give the U350 as a Christmas gift, it’s all ready to go. And, in case you were wondering, I also set Mommy PR as the homepage!

Other fun information about the IdeaPad U350:
- 13.3 inch HD LED screen
- Operating System: WIndows Vista Home Premium
- Lenovo OneKey Rescue System (restore the laptop from a crash or “blue screen of death” with only the push of a button!)
- 3 GB Memory, 320 GB Harddrive
- 4 cell Lithium-ion battery
- Bluetooth capable

Besides me, nobody else has touched this computer outside of the manufacturer. I will be sad to let it go, but will ensure I take good care of it before it gets to the winner’s hands. Now if you want those hands to be yours, here’s what you need to do…

About the Author

My name is Megan and I’m a unique reviewer for Mommy PR – I don’t have any kids yet, but one day I hope to. The majority of my days are spent at my 9 to 5 day job and I spend most of my evenings in culinary school! In September 2012 I will graduate as a pastry chef. Even though work and school consume most of my time, I enjoy spending any and all free time in the kitchen baking up something delicious and fattening. My other favorite activies include traveling and working out.

As an ‘avid’ reader of PC Magazine, I was greatly impressed with PC World’s July 2009 review of the ‘IdeaPad U350:” The Lenovo Ideapad is arguably the best netbook available, besting the Dell Inspiron Mini 12, Samsung NC20 (21GBK) and HP Pavilion dv2″!

The S10-2 is the “thinnest and lightest mini laptop”. This is perfect for me because I’m always running all over the place. 10’2″ is a perfect size and the multitouch TouchPad is simply amazing. The prices are great on these; they’re right – that is a lot of features packed into such a tiny PC!

I bought my Lenovo R61e close to 2 years ago and still love it but can’t believe how ancient it looks compared to the new Lenovo laptops!

I like them all including the Y650 Thin, light premium HD which would be perfect for gaming and work related activities. I like the widescreen and thin design of the Y650. But I really hope I can win this IdeaPad to replace my old Lenovo. It would be the best holiday present ever!
