LeapFrog: Zippity Learning System Review & Giveaway

leapwinnerI absolutely love toys that help promote physical activity and learning. Being a mommy as well as a physical therapist I am always on the lookout for toys which promote both.  LeapFrog has a great new learning system out for 3-5 year olds called the Zippity Learning System.  First a little about LeapFrog:

First a little about LeapFrog:

LeapFrog is a leading designer, developer and marketer of innovative, technology-based  educational products and related proprietary content. LeapFrog is 100% focused on developing products that will provide the most engaging, effective learning experience – for all ages, in school or home, around the world. We put learning first – a philosophy that distinguishes us from our competitors and fuels the entire company.

The LeapFrog learning experience is brought to life by our highly specialized teams who unite the three key elements that truly set our products apart: (1) We start with a rigorous, proven learning methodology (2) We create compelling, multi-layered content (3) We deliver the content and learning experience through the use of technology that is intuitive, invisible and engaging.

The Zippity Learning System:

Bring Playhouse Disney to your house with Zippity, the new high-energy learning system that gets preschoolers dancing, jumping, playing and learning with Disney characters they love! The Zippity systemintroduces preschool curriculum through full-body play and learning. Using the interactive bopper and mat, children can stomp, swing, bop and march, driving the learning with their arms and legs!

The Zippity system comes with eight built-in games featuring the popular Playhouse Disney characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins and Handy Manny. All eight built-in learning activities bring the characters to life on your TV through high-quality animations and feature two levels of play for hours of active learning fun.

A built-in Learning Path lets parents see the skills their child is exploring as they play, or parents can create a personal LeapFrog® Learning Path online for more in-depth insights and learning ideas.

Note: A $5 shipping surcharge will be applied to order.  Retails for $79.99.

My take:  I knew the Zippity Learning System was going to be a hit as soon as I saw the built-in-games!  My 3 1/2 year old loves all of the characters in the games and immediately recognized them.   Handy Manny was by far the favorite.  (I also noticed Cars can be bought as a separate game which will be a definite purchase for my family).   My favorites…the simple installation and the built-in games.

While he had fun “playing”, I received great enjoyment watching him learn while being physically active. This is going to be great during the winter months to come!   I also love the fact that LeapFrog has the learning path available for me to follow.  The biggest downside to this system:  a total of six “C” batteries…ouch- but the system shuts itself off after being inactive for a certain period of time.

LeapFrog has generously offered 1 lucky MommyPR reader their very own Zippity Learning Sytem!
