Holey Donuts Review & Giveaway – Winner Announced

If you are following my updates in the 90 Day Health & Fitness Challenge then you know that I have banned junk food from our home.

You can just imagine my kids delight when they saw 4 boxes of donuts in our freezer lol!  In fact, I caught some of their pleasure in pictures which I will be sharing with you today.

These are not just any donuts though these are Ultra Low Fat Gourmet Donuts from Holey Donuts!  That is – donuts made healthy!  Yes you heard that right – HEALTHY DONUTS – woo hoo can you even believe it??!!!!!!  I could not and so was so excited to actually try them because it just sounds too good to be true doesn’t it?

The package that arrived on my doorstep was a large cooler filled with dry ice and 4 boxes of low fat donut samplers.  It couldn’t have arrived at a better time either because it was a very special day for our family.  The day these donuts arrived was our 2 year family day anniversary.  Two years ago we were in China meeting our youngest daughter for the first time!  Her very favorite food in the world is donuts and she was so disappointed when I banned the junk food from the house in preparation for the 90 day Health and Fitness Challenge.  She could not have received a better present that day than to get to have delicious donuts for dessert!

Yes, those are happy faces all right!  Let me share a little information about how this awesome company was started:

I should tell you that I am saving the very best for last.  With the holidays coming closer I have been thinking about how to turn some of our favorite holiday traditions into healthy versions.  One of my all time favorites is that we get up early on Christmas morning and pop the cinnamon rolls in the oven, turn on the coffee and we all meet in front of the tree.  I LOVE enjoying my coffee and cinnamon roll while we savor opening our gifts.  I have been going back and forth on what to do this year because honestly, coffee and dry whole wheat toast just does not sound the same or nearly as enjoyable…

Guess what???  My cherished Chirstmas morning tradition has literally been saved by Holey Donuts.  Just have a look at this – if this doesn’t make your mouth water I don’t know what will

The day we tried the Cinnamon rolls, we actually paused long enough to get them out of the box before they were gobbled up!

Let me see if I can give you an idea of how yummy these cinnamon rolls are…  They are bigger than I would have expected, smelled just like warm home made cinnamon rolls and were perfectly cooked.  Perfect if you are like me and like the inside nice and gooey and soft so that it just melts in your mouth yummmmm!!!

I could not even tell the difference between these and the ones I usually would have!  BUT there is a really big difference:

Holey Donuts reduced fat cinnamon buns have 5 grams of fat and 340 calories compared to Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls that have 24 to 56 grams of fat and 730 – 1100 calories!  I can’t fit 1100 into my 1400 calories allowed daily, but I sure can work in 340 once in a while for this tasty treat!  The best part is that nobody will even taste the difference – they are just that good!

UPDATE:  I just wanted to let you know that I also had the chance to try the Reduced Fat Blueberry Crumbcake and I just had to tell you that these are AMAZING!!!  Oh these are so good and taste like an explosion of Blueberry Pie in your mouth.  As my daughter said “Oh, MOM there is a party in my mouth!!”  I totally wished I had not cut the donut in quarters to share with everyone!  This is definitely on my must order list!
