HearthSong: Sit-on Animal Review & Giveaway

We are huge animal lovers in our family. In fact every time we visit a toy store we have to spend at least 15 minutes looking at all of the stuffed animals. I am so excited to bring you a great product from HearthSong:

Since its beginning in 1983, HearthSong has been committed to helping parents follow their instincts to provide their children with age-appropriate, wholesome, quality playthings. That’s because at HearthSong, we believe childhood is a vital chapter in life-a special time when children can be occupied with the joy of being children. And, equally importantly, a time when children need to experience as much creative, imaginative play as possible because kids experience so many of life’s first lessons through play.
The first HearthSong catalog was printed in black and white, with pencil drawings of carefully selected toys and books and mailed from the home of founder Barbara Kane by her family. The name HearthSong was chosen to reflect core family values – the Hearth, a traditional symbol for the center of the home, and Song, a symbol of family spirit and of a special playfulness that parents and children enjoy together.
Over the next 25 years, HearthSong evolved into a nationally known and respected source for quality children’s toys, games and crafts. Parents who found unique toys for their children decades ago tell us they’re now thrilled to be finding the same kinds of educational, entertaining toys to give to their children’s children.
Our selection of products has grown and expanded too. But we can still guarantee that each item is carefully selected for its quality, safety, and relevance to your child’s development – and we are steadfast in our commitment to provide you with Toys You’ll Feel Good About Giving®.
I was given the opportunity to review a Sit-on Animal.

Little animal lovers can climb aboard these just-my-size playful pals and go for an imaginary ride. Choose brown Bay Horse with English saddle and pink currycomb or Pinto Horse with detailed western saddle; both turn their heads when reins are pulled. Elephant is ready for safari. Donkeyincludes faux-suede saddlebag for treasures. For ages 3 and up; all hold up to 150 lbs.
My take: I had a very hard time choosing an animal for the boys. My husband and I discussed it and we both realized we have never seen an elephant to sit on before so that became our choice. The elephant is so darn stinkin’ cute I can’t even put it into words. He has soft warm eyes, and details galore. You notice the gorgeous tusks, the wrinkles, and the spot-on coloring of an elephant. There is not one negative thing I can report about this product. This is a toy that is going to be a Christmas surprise for our boys…I can’t wait to see their faces!!
The product description states that the animal can hold up to 150 lbs…I am smaller than that so I chose to give it a try and the product is true to its word, which gives me great satisfaction knowing this elephant will be played with for years to come.
The Sit-On Elephant retails for $74.98 but is currently on sale for $49.98 + $5.00 extra shipping charge.
HearthSong has generously offered 1 very lucky MommyPR reader their very own Sit On Animal (winner’s choice)!

My daughter would love the retro kitchen set, but would love the horse more!
The Dress-Up Carousel would be perfect for my daughter to actually see all the dress up she owns without making a mess; we are currently using a plastic storage bin that must be dumped out to find what you want. My daughter is three and loves animals, especially ponies, so I would choose the horse for her. Everyday after preschool this fall we stopped and fed apples to ponies at a local farm! Her eyes would just light up if she saw this under the tree!

I think the Connectagons would be really fun to have.
