Klutz: My [not so] Perfect life & Fancy Friendship Bracelets Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review two more wonderful books from Klutz. mynotsoperfectlifeThe first one I want to talk about is a super fun fill in the blank journal called my [not so] PERFECT lifewhich is labeled for ages 8 and up.  My 9 1/2 year old daughter LOVES this journal and has had a lot of fun filling in some of the blanks.

This journal is full of humor!  Hanna and I shared many laughs over some of the questions.  I’m going to share just a few examples of the type of questions in this journal.

IMG_2239I was a beautiful, bouncing baby.  I never cried and I always smelled like rosebuds. Then you get to the adjoining page and you have to insert the actual truth about your life.  Hanna’s page says this:  I checked with some people who knew me then.  Here’s what they say I was REALLY like as a baby.  “I cried every night at 9:00 pm.  When I cried I sounded like a cranky eagle.  People said I looked like Mommy.  Mommy said I smelled like heaven.  My hair was nonexistent, etc…”

There are several sections to fill in including things like “Nicknames”, “Friends”, “Hair”, “School”, “Fashion” and more.  This book is perfect for tween girls to record all of their thoughts and memories.  I absolutely love the humorous tone of the whole journal and highly recommend this as a gift for the young girl in your life!

The only thing I am not sure about is why Hanna left the “Parents” section blank.  I am really curious to know what she would say to these particular questions:  If I had to give [my mom] a nickname, I’d call her_____. and One thing I hope I never inherit from my mom is the way she:_________.  Oh and then this great one:  The most embarrassing thing about my parents is:_______.  I mean I REALLY would like to know her answers to these or maybe I don’t…IMG_2237

fancyfriendshipbraceletsThe second book we were fortunate enough to review is the Fancy Friendship BraceletsHanna and her friends are really in to friendship jewelry right now, so it was the perfect time for this book to arrive.

This book is recommended for ages 8 and up and I would say that is just perfect!  My 6 year old wanted to participate too and she is really happy that she gets to wear the bracelets, IMG_2274but she was not able to actually make any (not that her sister wanted to share at all anyway).

The Fancy Friendship Bracelets Book comes with all the supplies you need (beads, charms, cords and a ruler) and instructions for 8 different styles of bracelets.  We enjoyed making a couple of bracelets together and have plenty of supplies left over to make several more!  This would also make a fantastic project for a few friends to do together.

With all the rainy days we have had in the south these past few weeks, it has been wonderful to have a few of these Klutz books around to keep the kids busy!  We have really enjoyed spending some quiet time together doing the projects included with the books.

IMG_2273In addition to the books we have reviewed there are so many other selections to choose from.  There is definately something for everyone.
