Hotel Chocolat Review & Giveaway

choc2-vert

The first step to overcoming addiction is admitting your addiction. Here goes…

My name is Megan and I am completely addicted to chocolate. If the grocery store is sampling chocolate, I get a sample for myself and one for “my friend around the corner.” I have little stashes of chocolate in my house that can’t be found by visitors or my cat (who must remain under adult supervision or she will also eat chocolate). And if I receive a chocolate review in the mail, it’s only a matter of minutes before it’s all gone…

Hotel Chocolat

Hotel Chocolat understands chocolate addictions and has created a line of luscious, smooth chocolates that chocoholics go crazy about! To my surprise, they very graciously sent me a Halloween treat bag full of milk and white chocolates! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, of course, this has nothing to do with the fact that my birthday is on Halloween!

So you can imagine my excitement to unwrap a bag full of quality chocolates that celebrate my birthday! I immediately opened the bag of milk chocolate Halloween shapes which consisted of ghosts, tombstones, cats (I showed my own cat the chocolate replication and she tried to lick it!), and bats all in amazing detail. I took small bites to savor the rich, smooth flavor as I read through the accompanying Hotel Chocolat information packet. Before I knew it, I was digging at the bottom of the bag trying to reach the last few milk chocolate figures. Oops…did I just eat 12 chocolates without even realizing it?

Hotel Chocolat Boo Bag

In addition to the baggie of fun, full-detailed milk chocolate shapes, a large milk chocolate tombstone was included for my review as well. “RIP: Death by Chocolate” is all I saw before my teeth sunk into the corner. Before I started in for another bite, I noticed the same detail on the tombstone as the small figures. Finally, there is was a white chocolate skeleton skull on a lollipop stick. Normally, one would lick a lollipop stick, however, this skeleton skull was just asking for his head to be chomped off!

Hotel Chocolat began as a UK mail-order catalog business in 1993. In 2004, Hotel Chocolat appeared in the retail scene with its first store opening in Watford, England. Just last month Hotel Chocolat opened its doors to the 35th retail store and the first in the USA with a store in Boston, Massachusetts. Since its beginnings, Hotel Chocolat, the British cocoa grower and chocolatier of some of the finest chocolates I’ve ever tasted, has expanded into an award-winning company.

Hotel Chocolat would like to offer one lucky Mommy PR reader a Halloween Boo Bag, just like I received, so you can taste the award-winning chocolate for yourself! (ARV $25)

About the Author

My name is Megan and I’m a unique reviewer for Mommy PR – I don’t have any kids yet, but one day I hope to. The majority of my days are spent at my 9 to 5 day job and I spend most of my evenings in culinary school! In September 2012 I will graduate as a pastry chef. Even though work and school consume most of my time, I enjoy spending any and all free time in the kitchen baking up something delicious and fattening. My other favorite activies include traveling and working out.
