ELK Shoes: Review & Giveaway

elk2-vert

I can never seem to buy enough shoes for my 19 month old…remember the one with the insane love for shoes?  Well I have found another great company that has shoes that he adores, ELK Shoes.

Many people ask how we picked the name ELK.

The name comes from Elk Lake in Elk Rapids, Michigan. A beautiful place up north near Lake Michigan.
Our family has been going there every summer since before my daughter Maya was born. My husband has been going there since he was a little boy.

Some of initial designs were born in a cottage on ELK lake. They were inspired by the nature in the surrounding areas. ELK lake continues to be the place that inspires me artistically year after year.

Our goal is to make comfortable, hip, quality kids shoes that provide good value. As a mother, these are the things I look for when I go shopping for my little one.

I was lucky enough to have my pick of shoes from ELK.  I was immediately drawn to the Curtis style:

All our ELK soft sole leather shoes are made from high quality baby safe soft leather. Our leather has also gone through extra process to prevent color from rubbing off onto socks.
Slip’em on. Comfortable and soft protection.
Keep’em on. Adjustable elastic keeps them on little feet, and keeps you from crawling on the floor to pick them up.

Feel’em. Natural soft leather is like skin, giving beginning walkers more control and prevents slipping.

Wash’em. They love the gentle cycle with cold water, then air drying. Or just wipe them clean with a damp cloth.

My take:  I knew these shoes were for us the minute I saw them.  It seems that every single outfit the 19 month old owns has either red or blue in it.  He looks absolutely adorable in these shoes.  Even though they are a bit big (I ordered them that way on purpose) he moves around in them very comfortably.  They are light-weight and easy to wriggle on.  These shoes are perfect for play or for dressing up.  A big thumbs up!

The Curtis style from ELK shoes retail for $35.42.
