Aroma Rice Cooker Review & Giveaway

7win

I love me some rice! I have no idea why I love rice so much, but I do. My mom cooked with rice a lot when I was growing up, so I suppose that has somethingto do with it. I was incredibly excited when Aroma Housewares sent me the  Professional Series 10-Cup Sensor Logic™ Rice Cooker to review. I immediately told my mom about the amazing rice cooker I was being sent and she started formulating great recipes that I’ll have to try out.

Before I get to all her motherly ideas though, I first decided to taste test a recipe I found on the Aroma website. I scrolled through the pages of rice cooker recipes and after much contemplation was able to narrow them down to three choices. I assessed my cupboards and ultimately chose the “San Antonio Rice” dish since I had all the ingredients on hand.

As I was putting it all together, I knew it would be a tasty rice dish – corn, salsa, cumin, and of course rice! What I wasn’t prepared for was the amazing aroma! I am not kidding when I say that my home cooked rice tasted like rice that came from an authentic Mexican restaurant. I had to force myself not to stand over the rice cooker and suck in the scent of the steam. I completely understand why the company is simple named “Aroma” because the aroma lingering in my house for hours after I ate the rice was awesome.

Not only was the aroma to die for and the taste of the meal delicious (so delicious that I went back for a mound of seconds) but it was easier than pie to make! I put all the ingredients right into the rice cooker, gave it a quick stir to evenly distribute all the deliciousness, closed the lid and pushed one simple button. About 35 minutes later the cooker beeped to let me know it was finished cooking and automatically went into a warming mode. It can’t get much easier than that, especially for busy, time-pressed mommies!

The rice cooker also has the capabilities to steam veggies and meats, making it very easy to create all-in-one-pot meals. I love this rice cooker and can’t wait to cook up the other recipes from the Aroma website, as well as try out a few of my mom’s great ideas, too! Of course before I try the new recipe ideas, I plan to make some more “San Antonio Rice” but I’ll be doubling the recipe next time.

Aroma Housewares would like to offer one lucky Mommy PR reader the same Aroma Professional Series 10-cup Sensor Logic™ rice cooker I received! (ARV $69.99)

My name is Megan and I’m a unique reviewer for Mommy PR – I don’t have any kids yet, but one day I hope to. The majority of my days are spent at my 9 to 5 day job and I spend most of my evenings in culinary school! In September 2012 I will graduate as a pastry chef. Even though work and school consume most of my time, I enjoy spending any and all free time in the kitchen baking up something delicious and fattening. My other favorite activies include traveling and working out.
