Anolon Saucier Review & Giveaway
You may have noticed that I truly enjoy writing reviews on food, cooking, baking, more food, etc. Not only do I love to eat but I love to cook or bake food that others love to eat! I spend the majority of my time at home in the kitchen (besides when I’m asleep, of course) and I’ve practically refused to bring a roommate into my house for the simple fact that I will have a hard time sharing my kitchen with someone else.

Like any person with a deep love of cooking will tell you, quality bakeware and cookware is essential to the successful completion of a tasty, homemade meal. A few years ago when I first left my parent’s nest, I started my kitchen with old hand-me-downs and great-yard-sale-find pots and pans. Most didn’t have matching lids, some needed lots of soap and elbow grease to clean, and all had lost their non-stick abilities over time. Over these past couple of years, I’ve began to rebuild my kitchenware collection replacing the old with new, quality collections.
One of the greatest additions to my kitchen is the shiny new Anolon Ultra Clad 3 quart saucier that Anolon sent me to review. Right off the bat, I immediately noticed the sturdy construction of the pot. The inner and outer shells of the pot are coated with stainless steel covering the inner aluminum core. The aluminum extends up the sides of the pot as well so that heat is distributed evenly. I also noticed how extremely lightweight the saucier is, even with the lid on top. Both the pot handle and the lid handle are coated with a black rubber silicone to prevent slipping, dropping, etc. And surprisingly, the pot and lid are both oven safe (up to 400º F) AND dishwasher safe!

Even with all the fancy features, I still felt the need to give it some good kitchen love and abuse. I (accidentally) burnt some mashed potatoes to the bottom of the pot and saw the perfect opportunity to put it to the test. (Yes, feel free to scold me for cooking mashed potatoes in a pot specifically designed for sauces.) With some warm, soapy water and my kitchen scrubby, the burned potatoes came right off and I was happy to see the shiny interior of the pot unscathed by its first burns.
If I could change one thing about the Anolon pot, it would be to make the lid see-through; however, I understand why they decided not to make a glass lid. The lid construction of the stainless steel is lightweight and durable, whereas a glass lid would be heavy and I’d worry more about breaking the glass. Plus, with the stainless steel lid I can see myself in the reflection! With all factors considered, the lid matches perfectly with the pot and perfectly with my kitchen!
